Mason's kidneys had been starting to decline, and unfortunately, they just suddenly shut down. He spent one last night surrounded by kittens and love on his favorite bed, and in TinyKittens fashion, packed his TinySuitcase with memories, love, and familiar things- and with the help of his vet, went peacefully over the rainbow bridge with no pain. It's our belief he's busy sending Costco-sized piles of kittens our way now- TK has seventeen kittens in-house now... and we know he's watching. Enjoy the tuna, cheezburgers and sunbeams up there, Grandpaw. You've earned every one.

He was expected to survive about 4 or so months when he was rescued. He made it almost three years... He was 15ys old when rescued. That's nearly unheard of in feral colonies. Mason... Showing the world how its done. R. I. P grampa!

Garden Joy This is true....I am older, my kids are grown, and I don't ever see them or my grandson. With every passing day, my purpose seems o become less and less. I'm good with it, but I understand first hand how it be to outlive your usefulness. Videos like this make me especially hopeful fro others and animals around me.

And you can do it on the internet, if not in real life. Just to say/write something nice to the people you 'meet', to smile with acceptance, can do a ton of good! I have made many stories about Mason and Little Ginger Hatch ( the one with a shirt). That was on the direct chat. I did it for a month then a jealous viewer started complaining. We had so much fun. Many remember me. My Cat was my name. Mason was The Admiral James T Mason who was working in the Cat Navy and he was chewing tobacco and spitting while talking. He had many secret friends: Like Puff Puff and his favorite kitten was Little Hatch. A cute and very polite kitten who was delivering the newspaper in Kitten City. He had a little trike and a little wagon for his newspaper. He was sharing his kitten money with a poor squirrel family and buying them some little crushed peanut every day. He was also taking care of an old grandma cat by placing a little bag of mint in her apron pocket while she was sleeping on her rocking chair on her porch. They had many adventures. Unfortunatly, one jealous person had ruined everything.

This is such a cute happy awesome kitten/cat adoption story. A stray sick old cat rescued and then helps take care of orphan kittens that need a good adult cat influence and role model in their lives. So they’re happy and he is too!

I see animal activists on a ton of posts about cats and dogs saying things like, "if only everyone cared this much about chickens/cows/pigs," etc. Which I agree with, but very often (judging by the replies) it turns people off because people feel like they're being shamed for caring about pets and at the same time not necessarily being vegan. This in turn can and has made a lot of people care less about animal rights in general because they're offended or annoyed. That's where I was coming from on that reply.

That reminds me of my grandpa, he fell a few times before and broke some bones and got internal bleeding on his brain. Luckily he pushed through it because he was to stubborn to stay at the hospital and said he needed to go home and watch after his family, his purpose is to watch after his family he says. Doctor's and nurses are always surprised at how fast he'll recover. He's 90 years old and sings songs to me in Polish and will always smile like a little kid when he will tease my grandma.😂 It's amazing how an animal or human can recover from something because of them finding their purpose.♡

Wonderful to hear that. I saw maybe 6 wks ago that he was still doing well. I truly believe that his mentoring gives him an additional reason to live. He is comfortable now since his ailments and injuries were addressed, and loving life! Hopefully his kidney condition has receded. Great to see him playing too. Is it possible he is not as old as was thought? Anyway, keep up the great work. Give him lots of kittens.

True. Have you ever been to Tiny kittens on you tube? It's incredible. It live streams 24\7 the other day Mason was carrying some new kittens like a momma cat?? So cute. Shelly, the young lady who runs s this organization has saved many cats. She has one, Cassidy (aka) Puff with no back legs and does great, and then there's Aura, born last year with a severe cleft pallet. Shelly had to tube feed her around the clock for months, she figured out how to get her to sway llow kbbles and got a special water bottle and taught her to drink from it till ground breaking surgery! Talk about dedication!!!

Very refreshing to hear from a woman too. They don't make a lot of women these days that show respect to the male half of the species.

I had a neutered male cat named Bubbie who used to play with kittens in the house. I Never heard Any them scream in pain from him biting too hard during play time. He was my favorite, and slept on top of me every night. That's Bubbie in my profile pic.

Aloha MD My husband's cat is a mega jerk, but he loves the kittens. He had a daycare in our back yard teaching them how to play and navigate the bamboo forest🤣

There's actually quite a few male cats that have cared for kittens. Especially in places that foster kittens and have to bottle feed them. One shelter found a cat family on their porch. It was quite the surprise later when they found out that the 'mama' was actually a boy cat. It's like they just know that the kittens need them. And it does increase their chances of survival.

He's a very patient teacher.

He’s essentially teaching them how not to end up on the streets. But i dont believe gramps mason was always a feral cat. He has an indoor class about him, i think he probably had an owner and got outside by accident and just got lost. But hes interacted with people before he got rescued. Glad hes back indoors. ☺️😸

@@LilSnowieGG Trust me, Mason is an ex-feral. Definitely not a stray, and he'd definitely never been an owned cat before he was trapped. Go watch TinyKittens, where Dodo got this footage from, and watch videos of Mason shortly after he was trapped. That's not a stray, that's a true feral tom. He still doesn't let humans pet him for more than a few seconds; he mostly just interacts with Shelly's other cats and the foster kittens.

It's really because no one can see you face, hear the inflections in your voice or the contortion in your expression, sarcasm is supposed to be cutting but when all you have is letters it really can be. It's really hard fostering bottle babies. Although I still kind of want to do it. But if you don't really want to get a cat you could volunteer at your local shelter to help socialize the cats there. Which basically means you just get to play with all the cats and kittens. Dogs too. With the dogs sometimes you can take them out for the day. To go places like the dog park. They wear a bandana saying they are up for adoption. It's a way to help find them homes. I don't think you could do that with the cats but you might be able to do a weekend foster for one.

It's quite the challenge (both in terms of time commitment and cost), but it is SO rewarding in the long run!

Be careful with that, this cat is an exception. Usually older cats feel like killing or hurting the babies they don't know so pay attention every second until they get used to each other.

if you don’t have the time for fostering, volunteering at shelters is a perfect alternative, since you can basically come whenever they’re open for volunteering hours.
