This is phenomenal beyond words. In ONE WEEK Randy wrote those insanely hilarious and complicated lyrics ( he is the USA answer to WS Gilbert) AND he voiced all those complex harmonies so beautifully and perfectly, AND did all of the acting. He is in his own category of talent. Randy you already deserve a Kennedy Center Honor!

I have watch this 20 times and when I’m not watching it the tune is going through my head. Getting those harmonies right is not easy, and he really impresses me as a musician. I say this as a singer who knows exactly what it takes. And this little detail like each of the Andrews sisters looks unique. It’s just one of those small things he does to make it great.

¼ minute (from 3:37-3:53). Pretty impressive, but I’ve seen videos here where people regularly hold notes for over ¼ a minute (roughly twice that long), and one nearly a minute (almost 4× that long). A _grade-school kid_ with lungs about a third the volume of an adult man’s, did a 20-second hold a few years back for a Christmas song.

This song was made famous in the ‘70s when it was covered quite superbly by Bette Midler. While that release and its popularity on the radio are from before Mr. Rainbow’s time, I’m certain he would know of it because of Ms. Midler’s success in musical theatre.
