Dave Bevins was the Assistant Principle at Hurley High School when i was there in the early 80s, Hes a Great Guy.

My great Joe and Hettie Weller Grandparents and granparents Joe Jr. and Peggy Weller and mom is from Grundy. The Wellers- they owened the Micker Mac and the Fairway. I have great memories of visiting my great granparents in the late 70's early 80's.

I was born in Grundy, up in slate creek or lower Mill Branch but left there many years ago, my brothers still live there and a slue of cousins!!

My family on my father's side lived in Grundy. Ed and Thelma Pugh. Went to visit and reunions are things I will never forget. My daddy had 15 brothers and sisters. Sometimes I wonder if we should all go back the way it was.

Wow I was around there in the late 90's early 2000's it was almost completely torn down and very depressing place but I've seen videos from the 50's and 60's and it looked fun and beautiful Thanks for sharing this video

I almost took a job at the local radio station In Grundy back in the mid 1970's. Glad I didn't both stations closed.

I received a letter saying to mail our vehicle's mileage information to an All State office in Grundy! Greetings from California.

As Tisha's husband, Charles, I attended the Mountain Mission School beginning in the Summer of 1948 and the next year's term (1949-50). That year, 1950, they took the 1950 U. S. Census which will be available on April 1, 2012 to view. Looking forward to see the names of my classmates. We could go to the movies in town on Saturday afternoon for thirteen or fourteen cents. I noticed no one from the MMS has mentioned being there. Sad.

I come from a family of 11 and my parents wanted to move out of Grundy and my dad went to Florida to find a job and a place to live, while he was gone my mom took sick and us kids were placed in MMS, it was not a memorable time in my young life, the old man there carried a black snake whip which he did not mind using on the kids I got it across my young 6 yrs old back because my 2 yrs old brother wet the bed, I had to scrub his sheets and hang them out to dry, my father heard about us being there and rushed back to get us out, it was sad to be there and not the thought of it not being mentioned!

I remember Mr. Bevins from Harman Elementary in the early 70’s. He was a good one. There weren’t many good ones.

My mom, Carrol (Boyd) Nuckols was born in Grundy, in 1931. My grandparents are the Boyds and the Deels. If you're from Grundy, or have family from there, please leave a comment.

My Granfather, Harvey Roberts owned a restaurant in Grundy during the Great Depression. My father, Jesse Roberts was also a shoe shine boy during those days. It cost 5cents to go the movies he said.

I'm from there.grandfather was Burke Johnson..my moms father Charlie tester from Hurley...my first memory of Charlie Tester.arpund 1970 he was working at the small bank in Hurley as a security guard.He walked around with a .45 Thompson submachine gun. He fired it several times in the middle of the day against the creek bed for my dad.that you will remember at 7 years old
