The Velvet Underground is one of the most influential bands in the history of pop music. And their legacy is especially impressive considering all of their albums were panned by critics and ignored by fans. There's a saying that even though they didn't sell well initially, every person who bought one of their albums ended up forming a band.
That's because the groundbreaking style of Lou Reed, John Cale, Doug Yule, Sterling Morrison, and Moe Tucker has turned out to be timeless. And their collaborations with Nico and Andy Warhol only brought them to new heights of fame, including, eventually, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. So how did it happen? Here's the untold truth of the Velvet Underground.

This video is full of lies and bs. Anyone who knows VU history will spot the inaccuracies, but the worst sin is the implication that Reed made decisions in the search for commercial success. Geez, he went back to live with his parents and worked as a typist! Does that sound like someone looking for chart hits to you?!

Lou was weary of the way Steve Sesnick managed the band and that is the reason why he left. He probably thought he’d quite the music industry for good at that point in time. Doug has been blamed for the VU last album Squeeze, but Sesnick is the one, who hoodwinked him into doing that album. It is not Doug’s fault.

VIEWS. Never forget for a second KZfaq is about views and that the average person is barely literate. That doesn't make them "bad" but they must be engaged as one might a rather stupid child. That goes with the territory and is more likely to introduce noobs to the Velvets who might not otherwise watch. The Velvets music opens minds and not just ancient boomers like self. Whatever shares their stuff effectively in the modern world is fine with me. Peace.

At this time: 3/1/22 I would like to remember The Velvet Underground for being the music of the velvet revolution we see taking place today in Ukraine. A revolution for democracy as I see it. The greatest threats to peace are trigger words and phrases. Democratic balance must temper all Republic's "Patriotic" zeal for their parties local independent control of "Politics".

I feel that The Velvet Underground would prefer the PS5 over the Xbox Series X.

All of this might have been true if anyone had actually listened to them in the first place.

Except they haven't for a long long time. KISS stopped being relevant in 1978. I USED to be a HUGE fan until they went disco and trashed Ace and Peter.

Gend Simmons is a disgusting pig, and not worthy of being mentioned in a convo about VU.
