He’s the guitarist behind such iconic riffs as “(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction” and “Start Me Up,” but Keith Richards has become just as famous for the rock and roll lifestyle that he has somehow survived all of these years.
Richards has been a member of the Rolling Stones since they formed in the early ‘60s, and while he and frontman Mick Jagger have had some ugly fights over the years, they’ve stuck it out and have never broken up the band. From his surprising taste in music to his unique fashion sense, let’s take a look at the untold truth of Keith Richards.

Chicken Draws Dogs, One of the very few people who did. He nailed it when he spoke about being able to live with yourself forever. Most people live in conflict with themselves because they just look at what they think others expect of them, to impress, to show themselves up, or live to consume. He is one in a million: creative, outrageous and at the same time a really decent human being with not a smidgen of self-importance.

A friend of mine drove a taxi in Stuttgart. A man flagged him down one evening and told him he has to get to a rock concert right away to play and he had to get their fast because the limo did not show. The driver recognized Keith Richards right away. Richards realized that the guy was enthralled and he sat in the front seat next to him and talked to him. He was very nice to him. My friend asked him for his autography of which he readily gave him. Upon dropping him off, Richards gave him a 100 euro tip.

I've always liked the Rolling Stone's music. Saw them in concert this summer just to say I did. Was always convinced they weren't that great live. I can't believe how wrong I was. They were so good. @@91amhI saw them in New Jersey in 2019, Rutherford, East Rutherford, something like that. Wherever MetLife Stadium is. It's where the New York Giants and the New York Jets play. Anyway, it was great. That's an understatement. It was life transforming. My (now) wife was blown away. During the concert she was like "this is the best ever, The Rolling Stones are now my favorite band". They were so, so good. They were maybe too good. We were actually sad when it was over. It was maybe the best concert I've ever been to. I've been to many concerts. If it wasn't the best concert I've ever been to then it was a super close number 2. I see my comment is a few years old, as an update to that, my wife and I saw the Rolling Stones again in Detroit in 2021, Ford Field. They were outstanding. Our tickets sucked though, in Detroit. The venue was better in New Jersey. We're from the Detroit area. The Rolling Stones are just fantastic. My wife and I were just listening to them last night. We watched The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. Watch that when you get the time. When did you see them?

The Keith and Mick partnership is crucial, but the Brian and Keith relationship is foundational. Remember, Mick and Keith didn't start writing together until 2 years after the band started. It was the first two years where Brian and Keith formed the two guitar groove sound that is key to the Stones. Also, it was Brian and his original girlfriend Anita who helped shape Keith's rock n roll outlaw persona.

2006 - Keith was 62. You may remember this incident, report from newspaper - Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has been hospitalised after falling out of a palm tree at an exclusive Fiji resort, it has been reported. The 62-year-old rock star had the accident earlier in the week and was flown to hospital in Auckland, New Zealand yesterday. Band spokeswoman Fran Curtis said that Richards had suffered mild concussion. 'Following treatment locally and as a precautionary measure, he flew to a hospital accompanied by his wife, Patti, for observation,' she said. She refused to elaborate further on his condition or explain what Richards was doing up a tree in the first place. Your thoughts please on how or why he happened to be up a palm tree.

Brian Jones was NEVER the 'other guitarist' in the Stones. He was the creator and first member of 'The Rolling Stones'. He was an actual 'Musician', a multi-instrumentalist, writer, manager, arranger, front man, and more. He was the soul and the muse of the band for the first several years.

I read Keith's auto bio,"Life." And I have to say this post is not only accurate, even on some new points not covered in the book, but also very amusing. One thing I suspected but delighted to find out was true, after reading his book, is that Keith is a very funny guy. He has a great sense of humor. And I must point out that no matter what turbulence he and Anita Pallenberg had went through they had 3 children together. Couples don't accomplish creating this much life without having true love, passion and respect for one another. It would seem he found his life's love in Patti Hansen. Probably because she proved herself truly loyal and affectionate towards him. Along with the fact he probably feels she understood him as no one else has before her. I would think that Keith loves all the members of his family as evidenced by none of his children being involved of anything approaching a real scandal. This has to be an example of successful child rearing when one considers all the potential there still is for that sort of thing just because of their unusual background. I don't know of any self help books on "How To Raise Children of Famous Rock Stars."

I have to say this about Keith, and his flirtations with death, and the whole business about him defying death due to drugs and things he's done, its all made up nonsense, "he carries a long shadow" as he would say .Its part of his image. Try being a Junkie on the street, without millions of dollars, and see where that gets ya. Millionaire junkies don't face the same battles that most junkies have to deal with, like food, rent, getting your dope. And Keith would be the first to agree, aside from almost being shot at twice. A millionaire junkie is nothing like your average everyday garden variety street junkie, whereas they struggle every day to survive. Sure he's had rough times, but in no way whatsoever, did he ever live the life of a street junkie. I also happen to think Keith is perhaps one of the most important guitar players of our time, he truly has Rhythm and Blues in his soul, like no other.

Rick Albert Entertainment business makes a human tragedy /drug or alcohol addiction/ look ... “cool”. “Millionaire junkies” die young, the first Stone died young, a list of countless early deaths follows. I saw Amy falling off her chair on an ITV talk show months before her death, and that was meant to be fun, Amy was made a role model. Greed doesn’t necessarily drive the invisible cabal running this nastiness, it runs deeper than greed, but I’m not gonna be the one to tell you more. Keith Richards and Mick Jagger are not very nice human beings too. What you do with your £300 million? If you are Richards&Jagger, you leave Mick Taylor, the real guitar of the Rolling Stones, virtually penniless, and play the buffoon

I know a taxi driver who had to drive him to a concert because the limo never showed to bring him to a concert in Germany and he was running late. He sat in the front passenger's seat. He was very friendly with the driver. The driver asked him for his autograph and he gave it to him wih a real nice inscription on it. Richards gave him a hundred on a 20 euro fare and told him to keep the change. A real nice guy.

Thanks for your utmost love and support has brought me this far, it has been a hard time for me going through this, but your love and support keeps me going and standing strong in this difficult times. i do read your heartwarming comments and i truly appreciate all. It's the season of love for me & so i decided to put smiles on the faces of my fans by going through old posts on my official page and hitting up random fans, So i can get to relate with my fans better through discussions of depth and humour, listening to compliments and criticisms on my career walk.

As I am a Brit living in Canada I almost lost it when they talked of Keith being in the Boy Scouts and in the beaver patrol. In Canada beaver is slang for a girls you know what.

Keef once jumped out of a plane at 5,000 feet using an old hollow body Gretch as a parasail, landing on a stool at a cabana bar in Key West. Less than a week later, he played "Sympathy For The Devil" while strapped to a cross in Vatican City.

Head of a Beaver Patrol as a Boy Scout? How ironic that other than his love of music, that would be the only training from his childhood that he would continue to pursue during his life as a Rock Star.

The Don Wesley . Keith's " daily wearing of eyeliner " ? Well , he actually had those lines Tattooed on his face sometime between masterminding the 'Gunpowder Plot ' with Guy Fawkes in 1605 & his full ' Blood change ' operation in Transilvania the mid 1970's .
