Larry ur so helpful on email, people don't have any idea, I say u should do some more vids maybe do reviews like other channels but in ur own style, but do follow there pattern of mentioning all the bs like frequency response etc, this is to get more people interested then slowly take them down the rabbit hole, just some advice if u wanna get more subs but KZfaq doesn't pay enough but maybe brands like audio note could send u something if u become large enough , do audio note know about your Channel

What speakers are you using, or would you recommend, for this amp? Small to medium sized room. Are you happy with the integrated DAC? Thanks.

@@shingnosis Hi. I think the dac module is great, and it would be difficult to find better for the money, im very happy with the sound. I use Audiovector R1 arrete standmount speakers in my medium sized room. Audiovector and Gryphon has great synergy. I know that Audiovector uses Gryphon amplification at their factory.

@@shingnosis last year i had a chance to buy a used Gryphon Scorpio S cd player, but i was told that the dac module is better sounding than the Scorpio S own dac, also the same conclusion in a review from hifi plus magazine.

Yes I have heard most of their models up to around year 2018. I like Luxman but also Yamaha and Accuphase. Especially Luxman has a place in my heart where I think that price wise they are very reasonable. I have dedicated a whole chapter in my book to those 3 brands, since they have a lot of potential for harvesting top sound. Mcintosh ma12000 is probably the best Mcintosh amplifier on the market IMO in terms of sounding most natural/being the best integrated sound not just as an amp, but in the way of not creating a preamp so the sound usually gets a bit away from the down to earth/intimate sound over to the more technical sound with poweramp/preamp combo, and even though the diablo 300 is really good I feel that the ma12000 is slightly better. I heard them both recently. But as soon as you go into stuff like Gryphon Mephisto nothing Mcintosh produces comes close, even though the ma12000 and especially the mc901 with the new top mcintosh preamp is superb. Both brands are very versatile taking room matching and speakers into consideration, so it isn't an easy thing to decide upon, more the price that makes the decision for you. On my wishlist I would want the Mephisto, then the mc901 with the new preamp, then the ma12000 and then the diablo 300 even though they all are very different and unique in their own way.

It's obvious from everything that you have written that you have not tried any of these things, and that constitutes all your considerations. If you have to have something work for your logically before you try it, then you are going to miss out on a lot in life and have opinions about stuff that does not always reflect reality. I do not expect everyone to agree, only to keep an upon mind and to try new stuff. Best HiFi wishes for you.

Yes the Mephisto is a lot better than the Diablo 300. I have not yet heard Vitus to comment about it, only heard from friends what they think about Vitus.

Interesting comment Chase as I was looking at both the Vitus & Diablo 300, my dealer brought round the Diablo 300 to demo , the one thing it definitely isn’t is colourless or lifeless as you mention. Mines hooked up to a MSB DAC & Avalon speakers along With Antipodes top server -it’s the most natural organic sounding system I’ve ever heard by a Country mile. I did mention the Vitus amp to my dealer - he gets a lot of customers trading them in for Gryphon all the time , interestingly when I went to collect my 300 at the distributors they had just had a delivery of Gryphon, 20 Diablo 300’s all sold plus a number of the bigger amps as well. Nationally Gryphon is their biggest selling brand by some margin. I’ve never seen a negative review on the 300 or any mention of it being as you described - but like all things hi fi it’s personal . I demoed both the DCS Bartok & Tambaqui both were very good however MSB was in another league as I wanted natural organic real sounding not digital .

If you paid attention in class and have seen this video together with the rest I did. Then I openly said that I have listened to most gear on the market, which most reviewers have not. And I mentioned that I have probably done the most amount of tests on the market, together with most combinations of other gear. So that is at least 90% of the market that I have tested. Then there are all the hundreds of pieces of gear that I have owned. Then I have heard at least 300 units of Audio Note in standard version, then modified. Same story with Mcintosh, Cambridge, NAD. So my point of reference is at the highest level that you won't ever see from another guy on the net. Then I have only heard a couple of Kondo amps and other pieces of gear that they made like speakers, DACs.... (from the new and golden Kondo age) And I have been able to deduce from that little experience how the brand really is overall. And the rest that is on the list that I have not heard, I have from friends and aquintances that are on some of the highest levels with audio, told me about the designs/sounds they got from using them. And I openly said that I would guess that they are this rank on the list. So when you have reached my level, then at that time you can judge me. That was the missing context in your statement, which by the way was for free, so you did not have to read 10 years of reviews to get close to that opinion. I have in this video provided the precise context of Gryphon to for example Audio Note, which also nobody else has done. And no I do not need to heard the rest of Gryphon to know how good it is at my level. You just have to try 3 random Gryphon amps to know that they are awesome.

How good something measures is more an indicator of how analytical/controlled it is going to sound, not the actual quality of sound. If it is defect, just contact them and get it fixed. Or just buy the su-r1000 which is a lot of the same sound, just more natural and neutral, but without the giga power/meaty sound.

@RealHIFIHelp disagree. true in some cases but not all. for 100k plus usd they should not have those issues. Good sound and good engineering go hand in hand.
