I'm 58 yrs old and have owned 17 motorcycles. Some of the fastest and unique motorcycles starting in the 80's and up. And it breaks my heart that I didn't keep even one of them. So, it's very nice to see you did something I wasn't smart enough to do myself. I can't go back in time. I did purchase a bike recently. And it's my last. Not my first choice, but super low miles and looks brand new. CB750 Nighthawk. 2003 with 4,000 miles. Stay safe! Great video.

I bought a new 1983 GS1100E (but mine was red), and went for a ride with it with my girlfriend, who now 38 years later is still my wife. I was stationed at Ft. Bragg NC and we took a ride to the Pinehurst Golf Course (neither of us play golf), and just love riding that bike. You did the right thing by keeping it, I sure miss it.

Bought one and strapped a tent and stuff on the back and took my first ever motorcycle tour. Went from Portland to mount Lassen and out to the coast. Also had a 1980 but I crashed it a couple times……then I got one of these.

Thanks for the Video. I purchased my current Sport Bike New in April of 1983 (40 Years ago), 1983 Suzuki GS1100ES in San Diego California from San Diego Suzuki, I put more than 10,000 Miles on it the first Year, less than 90,000 currently, only other Bike I've had since was a 1983 GS1100E (Red) that I only bought to put fewer Miles on my GS1100ES (I only had the GS1100E a couple of years, I prefer the lower Bars and Small Fairing of my GS1100ES). This Bike fits me like a Glove and I've had no desire to Purchase any other Bike since. Randy AKA randog311 (Retired Professional Wrench)

It's great to watch someone who really enjoys their toys! Congratulations on keeping a classic running and looking like new. Thirty years ago I purchased a 1983 GS1100E and it has become my favorite all-around motorcycle. With more than 140,000 miles of what qualify as sport touring, I'm hoping for at least another 140,000. To be fair, my GS has seen some changes, including the following: • 1327cc APE block w/Nikasil plated sleeves • APE ported head • Thermostat controlled Oil Cooler • Web Racing cams • Mikuni radial flat slide carbs • Custom exhaust Along with frame restructuring, suspension upgrades (Ohlins), and wheel and brake upgrades to manage the increased horsepower/torque, I revamped the electrical (wire harness, ignition, charging system) to ensure long-term reliability. While I cannot claim it is stock, it has served me well for many extended journeys, some beyond 8,000 miles on multi-week adventures. Better yet, my wife has joined me on several of these trips--not as a passenger--but on her own bike, a well-tuned 2002 SuperHawk. With the snow starting to fall in Colorado, the early signs of PMS (parked motorcycle syndrome) are beginning to appear. I suppose the first thing I'll do is remove the exhaust for a ceramic coating refresh. And then my friend Bart told me about a slipper clutch that I just gotta have. . . A couple of photos of the bike can be seen in the comment section (about seven down in "newest") at the link below: www.cycleworld.com/story/motorcycle-reviews/arch-motorcycle-1s-first-ride-review/

OMG! Killer bike, brother! Absolutely smokin' bike!! A good friend of mine bought one of these, his was red, baddest bike in the county, except for the couple hundred others that bought a 1981 Suzuki GS750E in Maine. I was riding a GT750 at the time and every single time a guy with a KZ650 or KZ750 wanted to race. I mean everybody!! lol You definitely have a superb machine, my friend! If I weren't handicapped and housebound, I'd have a 1981 GS750E in my yard!

Was looking at your bike i notice Yamaha signs on the brake calipers its interesting as the lines of these bikes reminds slightly of the Yamaha RD350 lc not identically obviously but the way it sits and the geometry its like a large 4 stroke version .

Your bike was nicely restored on a budget. It was once a rusty neglected piece of crap. That's why much of the chrome is painted black and it has brakes from a Yamaha. That being said universal Japanese motorcycles can't be beat. Bikes don't need radiators!
