The .22 LR GSG-16 from German Sport Guns is an affordable, 10-shot, straight-blowback, semi-automatic replica of the iconic MP5 submachine gun.
The GSG-16 has a number of outstanding features that make it totally unique. First, the adjustable stock features storage compartment for an extra magazine (sold separately). It also sports an M-LOK forend with Picatinny rails for mounting your favourite accessories attachment, as well as an extended top rail for optics such as a red dot sight or your favourite scope.
The cocking handle is ambidextrous, making user-friendly for both left and right-handed shooters. Finally, the redesigned front and rear sight have been simplified and streamlined to give you faster target acquisition.

The rear rail is so you can add a sling adapter. Also the the compartment on the bottom is to store a spare magazine

Is cleaning it a b? Comparing it to m&p 15 22 sport for 10l more than this and I like the irons on this more but it appears a pain in the ass to take apart and clean

These puppies ship with two 22-round mags in Canada and the 110 round drums are pretty reliable once broken in a bit too.

You can mount a Benelli M4 on the back rail. A 3.5 inch of course.

The great thing about this is that you can use airsoft parts with little to no modifications to make it a full MP5 clone. I did mine up with airsoft and 3d printed parts to have a pretty decent MP5A2 and MP5A3 clone (depending on which stock I choose).

@@samrichard926 The airsoft parts I got at e-Vike (though their inventory is a bit spotty) and the 3d printed parts from Hardline Tactical (in Canada) though part files are findable on the internet. I have a video on my channel about the upgrades I've done. Check it out!

You can also legally purchase, load and use 110-round magazines, at least in Canada.

@@ys9462 the GSG-16 is chambered in .22 Long Rifle, a rimfire cartridge. As is the case for all rimfire cartridge weapons in Canada, so long as the magazine cannot fit in a pistol, it can load (and be loaded) to any capacity.

@@MichaelCapraro Cabela’s or Canadian Tire. Make sure you call ahead first to see if the store has any in stock. Also with Canadian Tire, make sure they have the full pro shop. Some put it at the back of the store, while others have them on upper levels (in the case of multi-storey buildings). If you’re in the Edmonton area, the Canadian Tire in the South Common has the full pro shop on the upper level.

Unfortunate that u guys in New Zealand have the 10 round capacity for rimfire, in Canada the gsg comes with a 25 round mag and they also sell a 110 round drum mag but it jams a ton apparently

Just got rid of mine. The bottom rail started flexing after roughly 500 rounds with a forward grip on it. Flimsy chassis.

@GunCity it's a little more reliable than my gsg16 and I run mostly ak's in 7.62x39 so it's a perfect platform to practice without spending all that $ on ak rounds. .22 is so much cheaper

Do not spend your money on the gsg16 a lot of the internal components are supported by plastic pieces, I shot 500 rounds out of mine, no roughing it up and the internals supporting the safety broke entirely (because most of it is made out of plastic) so now the gun is stuck on safe, would buy a new lower receiver but they don’t sell them from what I’ve seen. Moral of the story do not buy cheap. If you’re looking for a gun you get what you buy in my case I paid for this gun to teach my nieces and nephews and it broke way too soon literally 500 rounds in and the gun does not operate at all.

With the price of 22 in NZ atm , I thought we were getting dicked in the states but ammo in NZ is outta control, Feel sorry for you boys, 900 rounds of 9mm ( Oregon) for the same price as a brick of .22, (NZ) it's $27 dollars here, Not to mention 308 lol , Anyway great toy , I've had this as well as the GSG STG 44 10 lb pos , finicky on ammo only liked CCI Stingers but from what I've been told you guys are limited on your bands , My .22 clone was $299, hate to think what you fullas are paying for it, My bro said it cost him $900 for a AR 7 Henry survival rifle almost shit myself my BCM AR 15 was the same price !!

This gun is built like a toy. Taking apart an AK 47? 8 parts in 15 seconds. Want to take your AR 15 apart? no problem pull the 2 pins holding the lower to the upper receiver. Want to take apart the GSG 16? You'll need 2 flat heads, 2 different torx bits, some allen wrenches, and a magnet so you don't lose the dozen of screws and springs this thing has. This thing belongs in the garbage.
