Looking forward to the follow up on this. Particularly if they gave you any pushback or difficulty because of the firing schedule and lack cleaning or lube over time. Not making excuses because if that alone was the issue then a good breakdown, clean and lube should have resolved the problem. Thanks for documenting this 👍

Yes sir we should have a partial follow up video put up tomorrow sometime it will not include absolutely everything, but it will give some insight as to what happened with the gun. I will tell you this we have not cleaned it because we intended to shoot it the entire 1500 round, although that has been a daunting task. The reason we did not clean it is because the reason it failed was a relatively small thing and we thought that we could fix it ourselves and just continue the review up to 1500 however, that’s when things started to get shady with Mossberg and, we ended up sending the gun back to them and they sent us an email yesterday telling us it would be 6 to 8 weeks before we received it back and what you learn what they have to do to fix it. It will be mind-boggling to you why it would take eight weeks. But either way I stay tuned for that video tomorrow. Thanks for watching and for commenting and please be sure to subscribe if you have not already.

It's a nice looking shotgun and has some nice features for sure. I have been considering one myself. I agree with one of your other commentors that it looks like a bit of an ammo problem. But more so that Mossberg should have designed it with common ammo types in mind.

@@GSquaredTactical We just got the 940 tactical brand new and from shell 1, and on, it won't cycle, sometimes hard to pull bolt back after firing, sometime when pulling bolt back to eject shell gets jammed like in yours video. I love Mossberg, but that tang safety has always been a detriment for me. I grew up using crossbolt safeties on everything I shot from BB guns to shotguns to rifles. The worst idea Mossberg ever had was putting the tang safety on the Shockwave. I and everyone I know who has shot them has gotten a substantial bite from them. Hickok45 even took a pretty good hit from one. I've shot the 940 JM Pro and the Beretta A300 Patrol. The Beretta is simply a better shotgun, IMHO.

I had one of these and it was a jam o matic. Sent it back to Mossberg at my own expense, and when I got it back, I had to call mossberg to find out what they'd done to it. Almost dropped the bag 💰 of coin for one of these today at the Dixie Gun show in Raleigh. Decided to look around, ALOT, before spending a week pay. I heard you comment on people saying "it's the ammo." So I won't say it. Does it have recommended ammo? Cause 7 1/2 field shot ain't what I would feed a tactical semi. Nice presentation. Look now to see if you resolved it.

They did send it back to me with no explanation of the work done, but they did replace the cracked mag tube follower the ejector and the safety as all three of them were broken. When I sent it to them, they required that give them a list of ammunition that I was using, which I had to do of course because it’s all on KZfaq not like I can hide it and my FFL said they said that there was no issue with any of the ammunition I listed. It's a tactical shotgun. It's made to shoot buck shot, high brass and slugs. The Winchester ammo you are using is low brass. It will not cycle as well with the lower powered game and target loads., especially if it has not been cleaned.
@GSquaredTactical5 ай бұрын
We will revisit it one day and try that but unfortunately we do have limited resources. Everything we put into this channel comes out of our own pockets so we shoot what we have. But thanks for the info!

Not per Mossberg engineering "John Raciti, senior R&D project engineer for Mossberg, explain the design parameters: “Our main design goals for the 940 JM Pro were as follows: Improve the gas system to drastically increase the cleaning interval while improving the ability to cycle lighter loads with minimal break-in." To me tactical implies short gun with high capacity for in building type shooting.

I hate to say it. But it's not the gun's fault. It's operator error and most certainly improper ammo. I've put thousands of rounds through my 940 JM Pro. All of them were high brass, high Dram equivalent, high-velocity ammo. Not one malfunction! It's either a lemon gun or improper ammo. I hope it works out for you.
