I appreciate the review man. My son is huge into race cars (5yrs) and we ended up picking up a wheel and mounting it to the desk. After watching in terror as the g923 almost shook my desk and monitor apart we started looking at seats and settled on this. Btw he loves your races too man. Keep it up

Bought the GT Omega with the shifter addon 2 months ago. It's pretty solid, works great with the TX base T3PA peddles and the TH8a shifter.

Glad we saw this video! We were about to get a different setup that was more expensive and has the annoying middle pole. Love that this has room for growth to add options later on.

Great review! Just ordered one. Ordered the v1 shifter mount too. I read on some forums threads that the v1 has a more natural shifter position. And I won’t be using it with the integratabtle race seat.

The big plus with the 2 bar design compared to the 1 bar of the wheel stand pro is that you can easily use the left foot for braking with 3 pedals while that was a pain in the ass with the bar in the middle. I had to buy a new stand with 2 bars because of that reason after I bought my G29.

Greetings. I may have found this useful. I consider a used one of these, and if the stand is too wobbly, I might add the seatstand and seat, which I suppose will stabilize much. One question, is weather using the H-option on the Thrustmaster-shifter will transfer much noice into the floor, annoying others, when living in an apartment. I know using it on a heavy desk up against the wall does indeed make much noice. I will see if it does where I am moving in.

@@bjornironsides6474 the g29 it great, yeah if you have a fortune to spend on a fanatec and a serious rig then that will be better, but I got the GT omega classic full rig with the r26 chair and the g29 and it's really good

@@Bluetoothedshark I'm glad to hear it. I'm sure there will be a learning curve not actually feeling the car under your butt, but I've always wanted to use a wheel and pedals. I certainly do not have a fortune for fanatec as I just bought a manual 350z lol Now I want the gaming feel when I'm not actually driving.

@@bjornironsides6474 there's no doubt that you miss some information due to no motion, but the realism of the games/sims these days, and the force feedback from the wheel, plus a good knowledge of the real world physics of driving, understanding of weight transfer effects and smooth, consistent driving style, you will find great immersion.

I am pretty sure the GT Omega is a copy of the APIGA stand which I have been using for something like 10 years now. They are really nice. In videos you can see some movement and flex but when playing it feels solid. Combined with a racing chair its a nice setup.

I’ve had this since November with a G29 and it’s superb. I don’t like the stands where there’s a bar going between your legs!

Hey I have the exact same gear as you do. Thrustmaster Ferrari 599xx Alcantara Rim, T3PA Pro pedals, and a Thrustmaster TX wheelbase.

what are the advantages of using a stand like this instead of mounting it to a desk if the height is similar.

cooking with Berke Having the pedals and wheel mounted together is a big plus. Plus being able to remove it quickly if you use the desk for something else.

Fanatec wheels aren't listed as supported but even the gt omega website has pictures of the wheel stand with fanatec wheels etc mounted

STR86 but I don’t think u can hard mount it, which is what I’m looking for, currently I have the wheel stand pro with a thrust master wheel clamp. Also I jerry rigged the pedals to the stand

Hi Steve. Is there much flex/wobble with this stand? There doesn’t look to be, watching your review. But other reviews seem to show quite a bit of wobble. Also, what rig do you use these days? Cheers 👍🏻

Thank you for this review. I'm seriously thinking on buying a wheel stand next pay day and will use your link in the description. Do you have an affiliate link from a USA store ? Would it take longer to get to me from a UK store compared to a USA store? Also, I was wanting to buy a shifter plate addon but was wondering how stable it is and is it in a comfy position and is it adjustable etc . Hi man. You probably won’t reply, because I’m late to this video haha. But with this stand, when you brake, does your chair still move back, or does the wheel stand help with making sure that your chair doesn’t move when braking? Thanks

My chair has 'brakes' on the wheels which stops it from moving. The reality is, if you seat is on wheels and not attached to the wheel rig, then you may get movement. It would be up to you to make sure your chair is either attached to the rig or you can stop it from moving with some form of brake.

The smaller the screen the lower the imput delay is. so having a smaller screen is better for gaming

Its not always the case tho? If a smaller display is 60Hz and bigger is 144Hz the bigger is still better? And input delay isnt a massive deal in racing games as much as it is fps games

Modular rear stand is a great idea but unfortunately due to the way the stand is built, it tends to droop just a little over time making the seat base add-on not really worthwhile as the wheel never really sits anywhere comfortably. Their aftercare team are epic however.

Outdoorsy1 Thrustmaster TX 458 which is for xbox one and PC but I have a drivehub by Cronusmax so I can use it on PS4 too.

I can't be 100% sure but I would imagine it would fit. At worst, you can just clamp it onto the stand.

I have the omega apex coming later today.. I have a t300rs gt wheel. I’m gonna return the wheel and get the csl elite with the load cell. I just can’t get a good feel for trail braking. I’d imagine you’re using better stuff these days. It’s nice to be comfortable and consistent while racing🎯🍻🍻 thanks for the review man👊

I had one (have a video of it on my channel) and liked it quite a bit... then didn't and sold it. I didn't like it because when you have the shifter attachment on it, my leg would be restricted by the shifter. I was constantly smacking my leg or knee into it when moving around. I am a tall guy (6 foot 2 inches) so it may not be so bad if you are short. It was also a pain to move around or store. I built my own cockpit out of wood but it just took up too much space. (also have videos of that) I just bought a wheel stand pro, we shall see how good that is. I got tired of my wheel being attached to my desk all the time but also need it to be somewhat compact.
