Installing my Garret 1756 hybrid turbo on to my ARL leon. This was a pre owned turbo that I fitted along with a new braided oil feed pipe and all new gaskets! I had a few issues with actuator setup causing low boost. should be sorted for a good review in the new few weeks

I can't believe you managed to do this without going underneath apart from the pancake of the intercooler . So this is possible without ramps . Thanks for this its a massive help might try and remove the one on my mk4 later . As I got a new hybrid of xman turbos two weeks ago and its blown already 😒🤣

Honestly it’s the easiest turbo I’ve ever done. You’ll also need to get the oil return pipe off from underneath.

@@Dandoescars thanks any other tips let me know as about to have a bash now .After seeing this I thought it wasn't possible from the top . Just hope my engine bay on the mk4 golf pd 130 is the same clearance . Thanks bro big help

@@mitic82 make sure you change oil and filter too. Clean out your intercooler pipework if the turbo has blown, other than that it should be pretty much as the video!

@@Dandoescars it hasn't fully gone it is brand new lol . Just above 3k revs get a metallic sound . Some crap failed component inside I think.. thanks your a legend for this vid gonna save me a few quid

So my pd150 seat Leon is making a siren noise. And been told probably a new turbo. I was going to get a 1756 but apparently need a new downpipe to go with it ?

How do u plug in the hybrid system on the car? I understand vnt system, but there's no hardware for hybrid?

A hybrid turbo refers to different core housings so let’s say a VNT 15 housing with a VNT17 compressor or whatever else.

Noticed you're using kess, what sort of map are you using? A generic "stage 1" meant for the stock hardware or are you able to custom map it to take into account the higher boost the 56 will run as well as all new fuel mapping needed? Have you swapped your 3 bar map sensor for a 4 bar? Cheers

Hi liam! yeah its custom mapped. I'm just using KESS to flash the files on and off the car. I have a mapper that send me the files to flash on after I've done data logging etc using VCDS. And yes I have a genuine Bosch 4 Bar MAP sensor

@@Dandoescars sweet, I was running a gt1752 on my a3, had it mapped at dervtech to 217hp, I've just put an xman gt1856 on and booked back in at dervtech on Saturday, addicted to it now I think 😂

yep you cant get enough once you start making more! planning to go 2260 eventually.

@@Dandoescars i was going to go that route too, can get 2260s on the stock cast mani for £850 it's just then the extra hassle of getting the downpipe modified, larger injector nozzles etc, it's a hell of a lot more work and cost for a reliable 300hp whereas the 1856 will see 260hp "semi-reliably" with just a 2.5" turbo back, alloy FMIC and hard pipe which is where I'll be at on the weekend fingers crossed. Biggest difference between for me between the GT1856 and the GTB2060 is the newer VNT which is more efficient and spools quicker.

yeah I've heard good things about the newer VNT systems. I just like the good old laggy 2260. I love the way they drive. I'll be doing all supporting mods to see a reliable 290-300bhp

Iv got a xman hybrid turbo. Came with a car I bought. Its going onto my uncles bkd golf. Is there anything you want to know that maybe I could help with?
