Ten years ago this would have been helpfull

In Vice City I was at the light tower on the edge of the beach and spent hours trying to snipe someone driving their boat and hoped their boat came to the shore. Luckily enough it did and I got to the other island and used a safe house and actually made a save file from that location. It was the coolest feeling to me to outsmart the game at 9 years old.

I used to use the tank cheat code and it would fly over the bridge if you shot the cannon backwards giving you more speed.

I was only 7 when GTA 3 came out so I always just skipped the islands roamed the game etc..I realized as I got older that doing the missions and following the flow of the game makes it better

I tried to get to the second island so many times, never tried that way though, just assumed it was impossible and completed the game normally.

I'll never forget when you're driving and just hear some guy say "my mother's my sister." Good times.

Strangely, never knew GTA3 had a built-in "save you if you drown" feature if you drowned right next to the pier. I'd always miss when I tried jumping into boats, and never recall having that feature activate for me. I guess I'd never drown close enough for that to activate!

They definitely added the ability to cross islands deliberately. I remember when I was like 10 years old and playing this, I never did any of the missions and was always stuck on the first island. Wish that I'd known of this fifteen years ago!

The first time I tried to get to the Shoreside Vale was when I had already unlocked the Staunton Island. I was surprised to see that the subway was open already, then disappointed when I drove to the Shoreside Vale and realized I couldn't exit the subway because it was closed on that side. I couldn't just drive the boat either, since the pipes are blocking the way. I ended up driving the boat onto the land and pushing it over to another side of Staunton Island, then drove it to the Shoreside Vale.

I knew these cheats way before I even started the game. I always enjoyed driving around first to gather information and memorize the streets before I even begun the game. I remember every corner of this map. I felt like I was living in the game. 10 years had past since I last played this and I still feel like I was playing it yesterday. Such a pleasant memory.

Just use the Rhino Tank and engage low gravity. Go to Callahan Bridge and drive backwards and fire the cannon to pick up speed. I use this to fly it like an airplane in Vice City. I forget if that works in lll

I use the under-the-sea tunnel glitch. 1. Get the _Fire Engine_ 2. Drive to the North end of _Portland Island_ and get onto the concrete bit that runs round the shore of the island there. 3. Follow the shore round to where the road tunnel is on the North East corner of the island and position the _Fire Engine_ above the tunnel entrance, over the centre of the tunnel, in line with the road, facing West towards the sea. 4. Press the side view button and creep forward until the front wheels drop off the edge of the concrete. 5. Open the door and get out. You will somehow drop down between the wall and the sea and end up on TOP of the tunnel. 6. You may need to use mouse look to get a low enough angle to see what you're doing. 7. Carefully run forward along the top of the tunnel, jumping over the various barriers as needed. 8. When you reach the junction to _Staunton_ , turn left and follow the tunnel as far as you can. 9. Once you are certain you are below land (not sea), drop off the side of the tunnel. You will fall and then the game will re-position you on the land. 10. That's it. You're on _Staunton Island_ Go save at the safe house. This is a 100% reliable method. And absolutely dead easy not relying on any dodgy bridge jumps or anything. Enjoy.

I always liked to park the car above the tunnel right on the edge of the concrete, then when Claude opens the door and lands in the water instead of drowning he falls underground in a glitch then you have him jump down from the “underground” and he will fall for a bit but land above ground 😂

This was a great game. Brings back memories. GTA has come a long way.
