You guys are screwing up. A park ranger and a Forest ranger has wide ranging jurisdiction. For instance park rangers patrol and protect all of the parks and recreational areas within a city, county or state, and can utilize normal city streets to get from one park to the other. As a matter of fact your officer doesn’t have the authority to interfere with that travel. He’s obstructing an official law enforcement function by detaining that ranger without probable cause that he committed a crime under color of law. Do you research. Also, government vehicles are self insured so, asking for proof of insurance is pointless. You also need to understand that if that was a forest ranger, he doesn’t need a state license to drive a federal vehicle. He only has to have the one that his department required.
