The camera icon pickups around the map were the original triggers for Insane Stunt Jumps. Originally, you had to drive through those camera icons and then proceed to do the Insane Stunt Jump. They later decided to simplify the process by just going straight at the jump/ramp. Also, I'm assuming they realized the camera icon made it too easy to locate Insane Stunt Jump spots (instead of experimenting with every ramp you see, there was a floating icon basically telling you where they all were - kind of ruins some of the exploration aspect).

I've always found beta versions of video games so fascinating, especially GTA. Just look at GTA V; there's still tons of info about beta differences. This channel definitely supplies that fetish for beta info, so thanks Vadim M.

Vadim m, I was looking at another Rockstar game called State of emergency. It looks like it got a lot of the leftovers such as the street textures, breakable windows, beta hummer with the same beta taillight texture, the pedestrian running animation, props and etc. Would make a great next video to compare State of emergency to the Alpha/beta GTA 3.

Also, the wreck of Mafia Sentinel in first mission is blue. Only normal Sentinels can be seen with blue, while Mafia Sentinels have only black color. It was used later in Vice City as Sentinel XS.

Well the camera pickup was obviously cut because it isn't in the final version of the game and either it was not finish so they decided to just delete it

The fuckedup_skewlbus.dff is also found in Vice City in little havana / junkyard and inside the racing track for the sanchez.

Wow very nice video, please make more of these with other gta's as I've always been really interested in this kinda stuff for years just knowing how different the games could have been, also I know gta sa has a lot of things cut from the final version so that'll be a good one to see

Actually this pickup from 2:31 can be easily used in Liberty Unleashed multiplayer - it is still functioning. In the original version of the game - this pickup could be probably used in the hidden movie editor ;)

Maybe the camera pickups would let you watch cutscenes over again, for example the one behind Joey's garage would let you watch his mission cutscenes.

Good video I think a lot of the GTA 3 alpha/beta leftovers went into another rockstar game called State of emergency. The street textures, broken windows, pedestrian running animation, hummer tail light textures and etc look like there from the alpha. A lot can be seen in early screenshots so if possible to make a more realistic gta 3 beta I would take the stuff out that game.

3:36 rockstar always changed the m16 aiming cursor. that one was a beta of the ps2 version except it was inaccurate so they made it different model. which the other model is ok but then on IOS and PC they just copy and pasted the one on vice city

I like how most of the beta files that were not used ..were actually used in gta 5 ex: taser , buggy etc... I hope they use some other beta files on gta 6

The blue radar can be seen once again in the mobile port of the game when u pause to to the options and once u wanted to place the touch controls ur self u will see the blue early radar

The buggy is still in the PC version of the game,it's right in the front of the police station,but to find it you need to be in the right time.

Still think Shoreside was a lame part of the map. In the beta sketches it looks like they planned it to be actual suburbia, not a glorified air port with about 3 mansions on it.....

i think there should be a camera in gta 3 like in gta sa because there is a mission involving photoshoot in gta san andreas and the icon look the same except it is pink coloured this pickup maybe for a side mission that you are spying somebody by a car

I was playing with my android version with this and i was seeing that school bus 2 times.

I think camera pickup used for some stunts and maybe the picture will be stored on gta 3 save files but it is unused, or maybe it is a video for tv but since it has no tv, it is unused.
