This video only presents stats across the first year (actually 366 days due to leap year) of vehicles being unavailable. It doesn't include the stats for today's weekly update, therefore I'll present some of them here for posterity. - The Akuma was finally made available for the second time, 329 days after its previous time. - The Akuma, Comet, and Seminole Frontier all became available for the second time since being removed, the GT500 for the third time, and the Cheetah, Comet SR, Michelli GT, and Torero for the fourth time each. - 3 vehicles have still been available five times since they were removed, with 15 four times, 37 three times, 40 twice, 27 once, and still 4 zero times. - Whichever of the 4 zero availability vehicles is made available last will destroy the total time unavailable record (currently still held by the Surano) and will likely keep that record forever since it will be longer than the likely year-long unavailability period between subsequent Independece Days of the Liberator & Sovereign. - Apart from the 4 zero availability vehicles and the Liberator & Sovereign, the next longest active streak is the Cognoscenti 55 which has been available one time 65 days after being removed and not since (previously this longest streak was the Akuma as mentioned in the video). Correction: Thanks to saturn580 for pointing out that the Baller LE Armored was available in early January. This had been mistakenly attributed to the regular Baller LE by the original source I used to track this at the time. Therefore there are only 3 vehicles that haven't been available since removed (Schafter LWB Armored, Daemon, and Faggio Sport) I'll continue to keep the new sheet on broughy.com/gta5vehicleinfo up to date each week so you can see how things progress from this point on. Perhaps I'll do a follow up video this time next year to see if anything has changed.

Rockstar could do one of two funny yet incredibly stupid things at the end of gta online's life: 1. They just revert the removal of all of those cars as if nothing happened (or under the guise of "final dlc" content) 2. They completely forget to revert it, essentially locking out 160+ cars forever

Rockstar hates car collectors

Rockstar turning into such scumbags over the years has been so disheartening. Broughy is 100% right about what's going to come with gta 6. It's going to be so much worse...but the community doesn't care. They just accept whatever BS Rockstar dumps on them.

This was the thing that finally killed the game for me. Thousands of hours logged, put up with so much bs (including starting from scratch), but this was the thing that made the game not worth playing anymore. It’s just sad seeing the state of this company.

They really shouldn't have removed any of the vehicles that appear in traffic. Those, at least, should have been retained. Because a new player might not know about the existence of, say, the Torero, so not getting one of their own shouldn't be too annoying as they don't know what they're missing. But they're going to know, say, the Feltzer because they're often driving it, and being told to buy it online when they can't is terrible.

The problem to me still is how dense Rockstar was about it. The decision was made to 'streamline the website experience'. But that more means the website is flawed rather than the amount of cars being a problem. More up to date filters (class based or, get this, a search bar) would have fixed that problem. This is a classic gaming company move. You stop selling something, put it back on sale at some point and people will rush to spend their hard earned money on it because who knows when it'll be available again. It's textbook scum class game development. And annoyingly, if they would have been upfront about that, I wouldn't even have minded it all too much. But they kept up the facade about it 'streamlining' the website. The ability to purchase cars from other players is a godsend in this instance. Even though it does create a stream of modded vehicles into the market (personally I only used it to get an Asterope GZ with the suspension lowered as you can't do that using LSC). Only annoyance is that truly rare vehicles are banned from sale, such as the Lost Slamvan.

The bad thing is, most old cars still feel good. Race worthy, nice looking, and of course INEXPENSIVE. Within the Car Club you almost never get any old releases now but rather just newer cars or boring ass weaponized bikes and cars. Even if they had the Car Club cycled only removed cars it would need to rotate weekly, not monthly to even make the appeal of GTA+ worth trying at all. Hell, even that rotates some of the same vehicles in a different slot. It's all trash, but I have no doubt they just pile code on top of code so making the dream browsing experience for cars rather than removing them is not happening.

A minor correction, the Baller LE (Armored) was available to buy at Simeon's from January 4th-10th, 2024. Thanks for painstakingly compiling this data that confirms what we all felt in our guts. Removing these cars was BS and Rockstar should be ashamed.

that intro scene showing the scale of loss had me realising a number of these are favourites i still pull out of the garage for racing or simply roaming around in something cool i was especially surprised to see the Blade on there, since i've casually been taking it in any pub Muscle Car race not realising nobody else even had the option - feel kinda bad for anyone who hasn't got it

its interesting because speaking to friends about this we have decided that this FOMO strategy hasnt worked, and not only has it not worked, its had the exact opposite effect. Even though the game is old and the endgame is a nothingness mess, we would always have that occasional urge to come back and just mess around in game (usually drive around in whatever cars) and that would always keep us going, but since they made these changes, I found myself immediately being stomped out because whatever vehicle I wanted to get just wasnt there. Picture that from R*s end, you make a change to encourage people to log on and spend money, but it somehow does the opposite, stopping people from getting the random urge to play and spending their money on the wierd cars they dont own already. Im not sure how they use that info other then trying to revert the damage done in 5 while still trying to save face while quietly not including it in gta 6. They tried to use FOMO with things like the annis 300R only being availible at launch for a limited time, that didnt work. They try this, it doesnt work. what will they try next? where will the slippery slope take us?

Crazy to think its been an entire YEAR since rockstar removed all of these vehicles. 366 days ago we were all mislead into a scam full of FOMO which has affected how I and many others play this game. The state of this game and rockstar is embarrassing to say the least...

The feature of selling your car on the car meet is available on PC now, apparently. I was not aware of that.

This change had the most impact on how often I play gta online... Over the last year i have spent less and less time playing. I used to play every week, right now it has been more than a month since I bother to log-in...

To be fair, the majority of the community seems to have forgotten to talk and complain about this. It's safe to say that this will be norm from the start in GTA VI, with the online dealerships also having a rotating car inventory, and GTA+ kids having access to more cars at once. And we are just letting it happen.

The fans still play GTAO anyway. They'll also buy GTA6 when it comes out and keep playing the online in that. Rockstar knows this. They know they have their fans by the balls. The only way to deal with that is just not play their games. Go play something else. So long as you keep participating in their ecosystem, they will keep being rewarded for their shady crap. Rockstar's fans don't have the spine and self control to do that. So things are are going to keep being the same.

I was wondering if you had been keeping track of all this nonsense. Thank you for working a full year to gather the data, so we could really see how it has all played out. It would've been nice to see a discussion on prices. Some of the re-introduced vehicles definitely had a price increase, though it wasn't astronomical.

remember, the customer car lifts in the Autoshop and customer bike spot at the Motorcycle Club can also feature vehicles that have been removed, thats how i got a lot of my bikes, including the Daemon.

One Note that could be mentioned (as I was planning a video like this before you mentioned it on the discord) The Auto shop and Bike Shop service shops do have some vehicles that you are able to buy if they are brought in by a customer, the notable ones do include the Daemon, Surano, Faggio Mod and Comet which went along time without being available. However this does take time and some luck for them to pull up in your shops.

Rockstar needs to add a new site to the game for some of these cars. Better yet, remove ones from the big two sites that are also available on Benny's and Arena Wars, but leave them on the Benny's and Arena Wars sites. Point being, you don't have to have the same car on like two different sites.

Really great video! No one else is doing content like this. Ive been playing pretty much everyday for the past 6-7+yrs. I have alot of cars & i only go for prize/podium nowadays since i customized pretty much every car i own except for a few. I got almost $60M so i dont have to be cheap. But yeah a filter by brand would of been a much better option.

Before i stopped playing, i was getting fed up with all their terrible decisions and other things, but this was the last straw for me because i'm a car guy. Haven't played in a year and i don't plan on coming back. They took the same route as Playground Games with Forza Horizon 5: time-gating content. The difference is that R* does this to get people to buy shark cars, while PG does this for player retention (and thus more money from Microsoft); the first locks the cars behind a paywall, the other locks them behind a chores list. I started playing FH5 in September of last year and it took me 4 months to get my hands on a tofu shitbox (Toyota AE86)!! This is basically a slap in the face of the people that paid for the game (PAID, not playing it via gamepass). Honestly, if FH6 and GTA 6 have time-gated content, i'm don't think i'll buy these games, unless the other features make up for that. And trust me, such features will have A LOT to make up for

If they did it correctly it could be cool. Such as exceptionally rare, classic, or unique cars. And having more interesting ways of finding them such as barnfinds similar to the weekly treasure hunts. But they haven’t done it correctly

This killed the whole game for me. I played to get cars for my garage and it was nice because I could just get whatever I felt like getting at the moment, but now you feel incredibly pressured to get the limited cars and that sucks the fun out of it for me. At least it pushed me into playing Gran Turismo instead I guess lol

This petty and un creative way to pad event weeks and monetise on old content was something the R* from the GTAIV years would gag in disgust. Rockstar Games as we knew it at the time GTAV launched ceased to exist years ago. GTAVI will let us know how R*-T2 operate for the first time, and it looks grim.

I'm glad you're saying the Massacro Racecar is iconic and you said it twice! It's all bs. I don't know why they wanted to copy the Fortnite item shop model. It makes no sense to do with the vehicles. I don't think anyone feels fomo regarding cars. What if I wanted to buy idk, an Adder, and it wasn't available? Maybe I would've bought Shark Cards to get it. Then I wouldn't because the car I wanted isn't available. I don't get why they did this. Worst change they've made imo. Naive me thinking they removed the cars because they were working on a new website store so we don't have to scroll for 5 minutes to find a car. What a damn shame this whole thing is. It got to the point that I just wish they would jack all the car prices and re-add them to the store.

I keep an excel sheet of all my vehicles, it was a pain to label all the ones that were removed but as I've run out of space ages ago it was needed so that I don't mess up my themed garages too much and get rid of things I can no longer replace when we get more space.

I havent played gta in a year because I was mad over that update. Today started playing again and I wanted to buy a viseris, but of course it’s gone.

Unfortunately, it seems this rampant monetization of in game content which should reasonably be free and included (instead of releasing incomplete games and adding to them over time while charging extra for the "updates") will only get worse across all platforms. They give the reasoning that modern games take huge teams of people much longer to produce, so in order to stay profitable they need to have microtransactions. I sort of get that, but the fact is, since the license agreements basically say you don't even own the games you're buying anymore, they can really do whatever they want, and since everyone is still playing the games they have no reason to stop.

They could alleviate some of the annoyance of the availability of these removed cars if they would just do away with the "too hot" mechanic for street vehicles; if it's on the street, it should be stealable & storable; bar none, no exceptions. The name of the bloody game is Grand Theft Auto, it should live up to it. Vehicles being too hot to store was a sensible enough mechanic back in 2013 when the game first came out, but now it's just outdated & stupid.

Inb4 they readd all the removed cars with "new and improved customization options" (a couple new liveries, maybe a spoiler) for the current exteme prices. Maybe they'll even make them be the dripfed vehicles going forward

It's pretty obvious the reason they removed these vehicles was because people mainly bought these lesser used vehicles when they were on discount, so instead of having to put them on discount to sell them, they're now incentivizing people to buy them via fomo from this artificial scarcity.

The Schafter LWB is also a free CEO vehicle that can be called like a Buzzard if you own one and turns your CEO status on. On that regard, the Cognoscenti 55 can't be found.

After this whole thing started, i made one of my larger garages dedicated to base game and early update sports/classics and supercars, and tbh, buying a sports car for 100-350k feels really nice. And the vehicles are fairly basic, but they look so nice and still feel great to drive around. Only missing the Vapid Bullet lol. It really sucks that they did this, as it wouldve been essier to just buy from websites rather than waiting and hoping for a new spawn at the showroom or car meet each week, but on the bright side, it gave me something to do lol

It's always awful how they implement things. The showrooms should have been a bonus to let players see and test drive vehicles, not a requirement to access old vehicles. The Premium Deluxe, the car meet, and luxury auto dealers will feature vehicles that can be purchased but have rare liveries. That should have been how the claimable vehicle from the salvage yard robberies worked, instead they have rare plates that should be available to be fitted onto any personal vehicle. Then we get to the customization that locks colors behind a paywall and still no option to color stock rims.

wow it's officially been a year since i boycotted the game

I remember buying up to three or four of classics like the Hustler and the Roosevelt/Roosevelt Valor, or more obscure cars like the Rat-Loader (absolutely goated car, that one), because I knew that I was unlikely to see them in the dealerships again for a very long time. Now that the LSCM car trading mechanic is available on PC, I don't really get that panic anymore. It's still such an unnecessary hassle though. I also wish there wasn't a cap on how many garages/properties I can own. I'm rapidly running out of garage space, and I've got all the 10 car garages and other garage upgrades I can buy. The rest of the high end apartments are taunting me with their unavailability

One method of obtainment you glossed over is the Auto Shop and Bike Service found in the Auto Shop and Clubhouse w/ Mod Shop upgrade, respectively. Between them, 23 additional Removed vehicles can be obtained, including the Daemon. There's also the Lucky Wheel's mystery prize, which has a set pool of cars it can give you, but when its effective odds of getting any singular car is astronomically low, it's not worth considering as a realistic method of obtainment unless there's no other way.

Good Job Mr Broughy, honestly though I was fortunate enough to have bought many of the removed vehicles prior to their removal. What affects me is the lack of availability of space to store the ones that I hadn't purchased but then win on the wheel or buy at the test track. I own all the businesses with all the garage space plus all the 10 car garages, that I am allowed to buy. I wish Rockstar would make all the 2 and 6 car garages into 10 car garages, or give me access to the 100 car garage that GTA+ members have. Or even just add more floors to the existing businesses or to the 50 car garage.

Dont forget about buying cars from the autoshop. I just got the GP1 for the first time. I'm anxiously waiting for the Z Type from the original car export missions.

The Tuning shop also offers cars. You can fix them for the customer or outright buy one before delivering it. I bought one that way.

i abandoned this game few years ago and at that time i had all cars i wanted, which is a lot, since i like cars and like collecting. i even had a table to track which cars i have and in which garage they parked by theme. and most of that i got in the way avoiding grind or shark cards nonsense. i fear that i'll have to use this way pretty soon after starting to play gta6

Impressive analysis, my head was swimming. Rockstar broke the game with the Oppressor Mk. II, and i think they know this. Churchill said “why stand when you can sit?” Well, why drive when you can fly in a straight line? I do RP a little, i drive when it’s raining. But it’s like a novelty anymore. Plus, i hate that there’s no way to track whether you already purchased a car, so you don’t buy it twice.

I honestly never understood why they did this. I mean, sure it's another cash grab manouvre but...did it really make sense to do it 10 years after the release of the game? I mean that's something that really only affects those who started out with GTA Online within this past year because those, like me, who played in the earlier years already had the opportunity to drive and purchase all those cars

As someone who LOVES car collecting In GTA Online, when Rockstar removed all these cars I Left the game for a full 6 Months. I did not want to treat this game like a second job just grinding away so I could have all the cars. At least I can still get a laugh when my mates used to ask me why I had so many. Now they come to me begging for a car they don't have.

This and the constant cooldown timers suck the fun out of the game.

They're definitely experimenting with pushing the game more in a gacha direction, new thing shows up, then you have like three weeks to get it or you have to wait for a rerun in maybe five months or a year. Not liking what they're doing with the limited time liveries either, paying a million for a car you already have just to get the livery, which doesn't even unlock permanently, it's only on that specific car and you lose it if you change to a different livery. GTA 6 will be crazy with this stuff

What bothers me the most is that the removed cars only get roulated by adding them to Simeon's showroom and the carmeet. Would be better if they get replaced by the same models, but with more modification options like the Sentinel, Futo, Schwartzer and the Picador for example. These are actually badass now.

Honestly after a year I kinda like the removal of cars. To me it makes it more realistic treating it like a real shop with vehicles that aren’t always in stock. I feel like this feature should’ve been in the game since day 1 because it would make certain cars more interesting to see on the road. For example, rare skins in Fortnite get some attention when seen in game “oh look he has the superman skin” some shit like that. Right now cars in gta have no community value, I see a car someone uses and I probably have that car also. In real life we have limited cars which aren’t always purchasable. You see a lambo sesto elemento and be like “wow there’s only 10 of those in the world” Obviously I don’t want the game to be like this but if I see a rare classic car that was only purchasable or earned at a certain time it creates more appreciation for the car like it does in real life.

I think it was a dumb move by Rockstar to remove any vehicles at all but I can tell they did it one, to utilize the two showrooms added in the Criminal Enterprises DLC and two, to give people the same FOMO aspect they introduced in the Drug Wars DLC which was coincidentally the DLC right before they removed these vehicles. Even if they were to never bring the cars back, they should have at least allowed players some other simple way to get these vehicles but of course, they will never do that or say there is a way already which isn't as simple as they think like you said.

As frustrating as the website removals were, I think the energy fighting to get them back could be better used to get some backfills to specialty car modifications (more cars for Benny, arena mods, etc...)

I used to love racing in gta5 online with friends, but rockstar has been just ruining the game. First the security issues (hackers could see your ip) and other fun stuff. Then they just wanted to ruin all community made tracks etc. The list just keeps going on and on. (sorry for bad english, its not my native language)

Oh wow. I was actually on the lookout for Baller LE armored and Schafter LWB armored, so that I could get them for free as CEO vehicles. I didn't know they haven't been available since getting removed 😅 I know it's just 5k but it's mainly for roleplay
