How to install a kit that enables Wireless Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto in Mercedes E-Class W212
The kit supports upgraded sound system for E-class.
List of Version 2 improvements:
- Wireless Android Auto is now supported
- no need for a separate microphone for Siri or Google Assistant, now works through the original car microphone

Just did this install, it worked perfectly and exactly as shown here. My only note was in the part where they recommend you crack the plastic to fit the wires through -- I didn't find it that difficult on my vehicle to get them up there without having to do that, but YMMV. The biggest challenge for me was getting the head unit back in. The new harness/adapter kept getting in the way, and I had to get it lined up perfectly with a void below the head unit by getting my hand in there when the head was half-way in and pushing the new harness down, and THEN once it was perfectly in position, I could push the unit back in. Otherwise excellent, super easy install, no weird trouble or tech support needed. Thanks guys!

My CarPlay is usually up and running BEFORE the screen finishes loading some times. It’s consistently about-as or faster than the OEM equipment is.

Do we need to connect cable first to enable wireless CarPlay? I see him plugging lightning cord. I don’t understand why we need it if it’s wireless. Thanks!

I've just finished doing this and the installation went very smoothly, helped by your excellent video. The only issue I had was with the sound. I'm using Mercedes BT for sound. My E350 already had Aux configured (probably from new) so I didn't need to change that. Changing MOST from internal to external amplifier actually stopped sound from working. I initially followed the instructions and sound didn't work. Once I switched back to internal amplifier, everything worked perfectly. The camera angles and lighting on this video really helped me when I installed my own and now I have Carplay working perfectly. The screen is a bit small but everything works well. Thank you.

Hi where is factory setting on this screen as all apps are showing S change wallpaper needs factory settings put back and no reverse camera at all but showing parking sensors only can you help please

No. The only difference is that everything is mirrored in the video but the unit itself doesn't care which country it's used in nor whether it's LHD or RHD.

@@beatsbyry This isn't necessarily true. My 2012 E350 is pre-facelift but has NTG 4.5 and this worked perfectly on mine. What matters is what NTG version you have.

This isn't BS. It worked on my 2012 E350. The only issue I had was that I had to use internal rather than external amplifier in the settings but apart from that, everything worked exactly as in the video.
