I had Ozbuilt 4x4 chop mine and the workmanship is nothing like yours. Panels not matching, shocking welds, warped and the amount of silicon used would seal a house. Happy to see a professional at work

Awesome work mate. Please if you can add More details of the steps by steps before cutting example , remove interior,chairs , floor cover etc etc . Detail of welding and thickness of the plate your using to cover the back of the truck. Appreciate more depth detail of your work. Looking forward to new videos

all the interiour is removed for us by the customer, but i will see how i go making some more detailed videos in the future. check out out next video on a GU dual cab, has a little bit more detail on the inside but we use a factory single cab ute wall and graft it onto the back.

Nice work. Not to be critical, but adding undulated ribs would stiffen the rear panel. You could still add a section of ribbed tray to below the window.

We build them inhouse on our CNC plasma cutter and press brake. if we get some interest in them we may offer them on there own as a diy kit

How did you sort out the engineering process, im 14 and I am a pretty capable kid, looking to chop a gu or 80 in the next few years, iv got all the tools but the only thing stopping me is sorting out the engineering process, i don’t even know where to start.

Should have left the rear door short and active where the back seat area became tool and tow rope storage.but still the similar looking has now also making the old back half a truck bed.

You should have used the rear off the wagon part, then it looks more factory and you have factory glass in it.

Was it actually hard? Or was it self explanatory?? Did you slip up on anything? One day I’m hoping to get a patrol and chop it, do you have to make mounts for the tray, are there any laws to doing this? Thanks mate looks sick

we have done quite a few now and for us its not a overly hard job, we custom make all the tray mounts and its all done to Victorian engineers recommendations and needs.

The way that's done will accumulate dirt and moisture under the rear doors and will rot out the rear cab corners in no time. It looks good now bit not for long.

Gu patrol is what us aussies call a y61 nissan patrol. y60 is a GQ patrol aswell.

Alot of the customers buy the wagons and chop them down so they have more space behind the seats. I've got a factory ute and I'm lucky if I can fit anything in the cab

we incorporate internal structure in the walls to meet our engineers requirements, they arnt just sheet metal walls
