This dogs breeds are genetically very close to the wolf, many of them cant really bark. If they can its because they are far from being pure breeds. So they howl instead of bark. Its their method of comunication.

I’m a year late, but wanted to encourage you. My rescue was the same way, didn’t make a fucking. Peep. One day we got him to play bark, and he ran and hid under my bed and it took some work to get him out. But now, he’s all play barks and howls. You’ll get there. Thank you for being so good to a pup that absolutely deserves the love.

My one tries to howl but no sound comes out it’s so cute, slowly the more we do it she starts making more sound, she’s got the pose down now for the vocal 😂 it’s so sweet watching her trying to howl with us the neighbours must think we’re nutcases both of us howling along with this video 😂

This is the 3rd video I have randomly seen of this gorgeous fella now ( one in the front although both bar gorgeous dogs) and I love him so much. He’s so incredibly fluffy and has such a unique face and eyes, very recognizable. His little half howls and barks are what fully won me over (as if all that fluff and adorable face hasn’t already lol). He has such an innocent and proud look on his face while doing it which seals the deal. Anyway, gorgeous pup. Lucky owners for sure. Seems like they’re very happy puppies which always in turn makes me happy 😊😊😊😊

Add a fire siren and 500 malamutes, at a malamute dog show, and it is amazing. Even the judges gave up, because they all had to sit once they got going. Thirty years later and it is still one of my favorite memories.

Our malamute demands snow apples when she howls. If we don’t give her them she threatens to walk all the way back to Alaska. Yes, we know there’s no such thing as snow apples and that she has to somehow get across the Atlantic Ocean without sinking like the big fluffy stone she is. We just give her regular apples occasionally and tell her they’re the mystical snow apples she speaks of. Does Phil or Niko eat apples btw?

I've made my dog's howl over time from childhood with my old girl a German Shepard called Sheba. A few year's back with my Staffies mimicing a howl. They just watched me and twisting thier heads, they was excited then they joined in, my Staffies did it briefly before running around in a circle getting excited chasing thier tail, probably because it tickled thier throat and i spoke to them but it was adorable. All dogs have it in them but brewds closer to the wolf like a Wolfdog, Husky etc are more common to howl than bark.

My dog didn't howl, he just kept licking the wall . He does howl every morning, and at night, or when the phone rings. He starts off with a low howl, then repeats about 6 times going higher and higher each time, like a doggy "Do-re-mi..". I love it!
