As far as I remember, "misplays" are a random stat. Each time you play a card, the counter has a chance to increase. On average, your "misplay" counter shows a reduced average of how many cards you played in the whole run.

Neat little strat I learned, put Mantis sigil onto Mantis God card and it stacks. So you end up attacking 5 times instead of 3, at the cost of a single blood. Figured I’d share it for those who didn’t know I know the pronghorn and the mantis share the same sigil I just can’t remember what it’s called. Figured I’d share it though, sorry for lack of proper information 😅

Okay, Tom. I’m sure you’ve gotten better, but here’s the run down: Pelts interfere with the fair hand mechanic (the one where you always get one one blood card at the beginning of a match) Sacrifice the worms first and reload if the survivors don’t want to eat them, you can win with the Mantis God anyways Trifucerated, bi-fucerated and double Strike can stack and Still work Deal with waterborne cards like the Shark using extreme prejudice, none of them are good Great strategy (rng based): Mantis God deck is really good if you get a black goat and a 3 blood at the first trader, and then put trifucerated on the 3 blood (do not ever take a Shark). You can reload by going into menu and then continuing to get a new map without getting an opposum

The repeatable levels in kaycees mod are fun, but I do hope you play the "actual" game fully for us one day Tom! The story and mystery and puzzles are so great in it

Alright, I give up. I tried this strat 20 times (I counted) and either the RNG required is just too ridiculous, or I'm extremely unlucky. You need to be lucky enough to 1. get a fireplace near the start, 2. get the power upgrade, 3. have Mantis survive the second round, 4. get Mantis instead of one of your two ring worms until you 5. find a second fireplace nearby, where 6. one of the ring worms needs to die, after which 7. you have to find one of the sacrifice spots for the second ring worm. Not only did you get all of that, but also the perfect totem combo for your Mantis. It's really cool to watch, but I don't think I'll be attempting it again anytime soon.

Tom know that you have actually made me open my eyes to more games like ones I wouldn't normally play and I gotta say I'm glad you did because a lot of them have been as fun as how your reaction is so I find it genuinely exciting and you are being genuine with the multitude of games you play

22:39 people have looked at the code for misplays. It’s literally just a random number generator. There is a X% chance that a move will be considered a misplay. Since you win on turn 1 most of the time in this build, that count is very low.

For the record, I did indeed try ALL of the skulls clicked on for a total 250 point penalty run using this deck. I died twice, but the third time I managed to get past the 8 bears, after that, it was just a matter of grind. Fecunidty is KEY, as well as getting lucky with Goobert and the myconologist. If you keep splitting, then combining the Mantis God, I got him up to 10/2 and had two of him in my deck. It was a little pit touch and go Having the Watch to open a space with the bears helps, but with 2 mantis gods able to just dinigrate the bears, it was a cake walk.

I have absolutely no idea what is going on in this game, how it works, or why some choices are good or bad.

Literally just did this in my run before seeing this video. It was so satisfying having a Mantis God with Deathless and Ant Swarm (I copied my Deathless Mantis God and the Goopy Painter guy gave me a Mantis God with Ant Swarm, and then I fused them). As soon as I drew it, I won.

I always look for Stitch-Pelt opportunities with the Mycologist so seeing you pass one up broke my heart. Otherwise great run. Challenge of the deck is removing the Ringworms quickly as they interfere with the rule of 1-cost

I love how this mechanic works, I created a death card with 14 attack and health with tri-strike and undying, it was the only one cost card in my deck and I saw that thing decimate the moon in about 1 turn

The "misplays" thing is a random number just to make sweaty gamers freak out a little

Not sure if it is still a thing or if it has been patched since I last played the game but the "playability" of bone cards are a bit wonky, having them in your deck can replace your only 1 blood cost card in your starting hand because the game thinks they're playable when they're not.

You are right on the theory about the needing only one 1 mana card in the deck to always draw it, however if i'm not mistaken I think for this strategy to be 100% foolproof you also need to remove all bone cards from the deck as they can take the place of that card. Or at least that's what's been told on various guides, not 100% sure. I'll experiment some more to make sure. Anywayz nice run! I noticed you never buy/see the skinning knife from the trapper event. Why? It's like a super solid buy if you have the empty item slot. It makes things even easier.

I have completed challenge levels 1 & 2 today 1st I did no clover then I beat totem bosses 1st try thanks to inscribing the unkillable sigil onto both the black goat and ouroboros

Did this with regular mantis 3 damage but the flying sigil on it

probably one of the best sigils you can put on your mantis god is flying. Way too many of the enemy cards have strong defenses or leshy just loads up the board with them, like if you are a doing a bear challenge run or if you accidentally get a full board on the fisherman and spawn a bunch of chum buckets. Having even a low power mantis god flying over and doing direct damage is an easy way to win most fights. Even better if you can get a duplicate through rng by getting it as a card drop or through the goo painting. Either that or finding a lucky combination of totems with fecundity. You can pretty much find similar success with any deck if you happen to sacrifice a mantis god onto something else. I had a really crazy run with field mice and mantis god because every time I played it, would get a free copy, so easy way to get past the prospector who keeps turning your cards into gold nuggets. Finding pretty much any 1 or 2 cost card with 2 or more power and sacrificing mantis god into it is a really good round 1 move since pretty much every run starts with a sacrificial altar and bonfire as options.

oh, also, start with the annoying sigil mod. Makes it so much nicer when it means you can rid your deck of the ringworms early on, as, having sigils, they can be sacrificed at the altar.
