I feel like it was left open for the sequel.

I think it's implied that something happened between Thanos and Adam Warlock during the war that took place before the events of the game. We find out that Adam was killed in front of Raker but we don't know how/by who. Meanwhile Drax says he just suddenly passed out while fighting Thanos and when he woke up Thanos had vanished without a trace. The timeline is a little unclear but these events seem to have happened pretty close to each other. In the comics Thanos and Adam initially team up to defeat the Magus, later turning on each other when Adam discovers that Thanos plans to murder everybody, so Thanos kills Adam but Adam returns from the dead to kill Thanos right back. Something else I found curious; if you watch carefully during the scene when the Guardians come and rescue Adam after his fight with Raker, when Adam says "Gamora, daughter of Thanos" he breaks eye contact and glances to the side at Thanos' name. Could be nothing I suppose, but it seems significant to me.

Long as fuck, Drax has trauma and can’t really cope cause all he lived for was revenge for his family and when he killed Thanos he couldn’t make himself have a new goal in life so he belives that Thanos is still alive and therefore he needs to kill him for revenge, its like the girl from Utopia whos mom was killed in front of her, she keeps doing homework saying its gonna be late to lie to herself, she cant mentally cope with her moms death so she lies to herself, Drax does the same, and it was lightly touched on? In his dream thing where the gang fights Thanos, he keeps multiplying and thats his brain making lies about Thanos, that he isnt dead, tldr Drax has issues and lies to himself, by the way, im in no way a psychologist or therapist, i just know random shit that i sometimes pull from the endless void that is my brain

Later in the game they say something about people that could save universe but noo fuck them gardians of the galaxy will save galaxy

I have that same question for Mass Effect

I believe they changed it due to the massive flop of the avengers game. I would imagine this game would’ve been similar to that with the multiplayer focused gameplay, but the avengers probably scared the devs into paying it safe.

I cant blame them, they would also need to craft an entire new melee system to make Drax and Mora interesting to play. Maybe its something they could do for a sequel though now the first one was successful
