4 ай бұрынGrey For Now Games recently announced their newest Fantasy skirmish game in 28mm, Guards Of Traitor's Toll. As well as being their own Fantasy universe, it also sounds like it might be perfect for those who love Samuel Vimes and his earnest companions from Guards, Guards and the wider Discworld universe.

Just a heads but Mighty Lancer Games have the discworld minis in stock if you in the UK saves in possible tax / delivery from the EU. Crooked dice have some nice town guard including female models. I alos think if you want plastic models FireForge Games do a lot of Infantry sets which would make great guards. I have the Russian Infantry set whuch you get a mix of swords, shields and spears or you could have a middle east town and use the Black Guard Boxed. I am also thinking about a Japanese town guard as who is to say it has to be classic fantasy town.

Some great options for people to have a peek at picking up! I will certainly check out Mighty Lancer to get my Discworld miniatures :)

This is a fantastic concept for a game - especially if you have different levels of squads. From Neighbourhood Defense (high numbers, poorly skilled/equipped) up to Patricians Elite Guard (low numbers, highly skilled), with the Watch being somewhere in the middle. That could make for an interesting campaign, with different factions trying to get the upper hand in the city.

I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this one. Screams Guards Guards but I also fancy using my cloth goblin guards and the various toy minis from Statuesque for it. The whimsical toy town that is a hive of scum and villainy sounds perfect!

I have a few of the Micro Art Discworld minis. They're fantastic sculpts, based on Paul Kidby's art, but I tend to think they're a bit over-scaled for use on the table top. Ton of fun to collect and paint though.

I think we can probably get by with Wargames Atlantic Conquistadors and the Landsknecht Ogres that they've made, if they don't immediately do a kit. Wouldn't mind more though. Really love their German Sentries kit, so something similar for Fantasy could be fun. I wonder what the opposing side would be for Fantasy? Rogues? Town Rabble?🎉

I’m reminded of the old Citadel guards from the Lone Wolf books so I’m really looking forward to this. Be really great if there is some samples of this at Salute.

I think Grey For Now are planning to be at Salute this year so fingers crossed we'll learn a bit more about what's planned!

I can't see how the model count is going to be low as I'm sure a ton of townsfolk need to be painted. Plus I suspect lots of un-Mordheim/Frostgrave complete buildings are needed; no ruins.

Well, the model count will be low for your "gang" at least but I get your meaning. My hope is that the play space will be around the 2x2 or 3x3 size so you'll maybe only need a handful of buildings and then you can have fun with the scatter. Might be a good opportunity to buy the cardboard buildings from Battle Systems.

There are ways to represent townsfolk without having lots of additional miniatures. You could have templates of different sizes that represent groups of people. Moving a mini inside a template could confer a sort of cover bonus, or allow them to carry out specific actions. Sure, it's not as fun as having a table full of minis, but it's much easier to keep track of.

The dungeons and lasor minis are smaller than the old GW Mordheim minis. More to scale of frostgrave. But still a nice kit.

The Guards Guards Guards miniatures look awesome & characterful. A Song of Ice & Fire miniatures would also work. Stark Vs Lannister guards 🤔 You tend to get 3 sometimes 4 different sculpts plus the guard captain??? Also My Guild Ball miniatures could be repurposed 😜
