@@swedboyzwsmeanoldnastydad6614 his message is that if you throw dirty bad punches and get lucky with not getting proper punishment - then opponents will make you WISH for ref to give you a proper penalty. It's sending a message you don't just skate around and play dirty without consequences. It may have lost them a regular game (you can't claim that though), but it most likely will save the team from an injury or two. So worth it.

You F around and you find out. The refs managed to totally F up the call on Cousins so this is what is going to happen -- guys are going to seek a measure of justice on their own. It isn't the first time. This was common in the days of Ulf Samuelson and Kasparitis when the refs would not toss them for brutal plays and eventually players sought to get even. Lately, the refs have been so brutal, I am surprised it has taken this long into the season for players to start taking the reigns themselves. And since the League and DOPS have been useless at any real supplementary discipline, this is probably not the last we will see it.

Cousins got everything he deserved! The league does nothing to get dirty hits out of the game so the players will retaliate. Large fines that go up after every dirty hit would clean up the game within a season. $50k for the first dirty hit and an additional $25k every time after that. $3k fines and a game off mean nothing to dirty players!

Cousins shouldn’t have done this hit in the first place, but it’s a fucking assault. This should be at least 2 games each, but considering this is NHL and they are still living in the 60’s…

Refs missed calls during wings games recently including Larkin’s. Seems to be league wide where people want to hit players from behind because they know a suspension and fine are a joke and there is no actual repercussion in the game. I’m not calling for 1980’s hockey, but the game needs players to start policing it to a greater extent. Cozens was just as wrong for that hit as Gubranson was for the assault.

Cousins earlier should have had a major & ejection from the game……. NHL refs are TERRIBLE 🤬

Cousins is a Rat. That's the 2nd time I've seen him board (in a dangerous fashion) in the last 2 weeks. He almost ended Charlie McEvoys season. Panthers run around taking cheap shots...I'm glad Gudbranson jumped him. Next time face him straight up and kick Cousins ass again.

No issue with him jumping him, he had it coming. Very dangerous hit into the boards. The league has been trying to rid the game of these dangerous hit.

The NHL is doing a great job at bringing back old time hockey. Ref'ing going from bad to worst ... and making the players sort it out.

Cousins drives this guys head into the boards at high speed and get's 2 mins for boarding Lol. He deserved to get the shit kicked out of him. It's called accountability. Smash my head off the glass from behind and you'll get something back.

Cousins should have gotten 5 and a game for that hit. However, Gudbranson jumping Cousins like that was pure bush league. He's going to sit a few games for that cowardly bullshit. Challenge the guy to a proper fight and if it's declined, just let it go. Saying you're going after a guy in retribution, pummeling him when he's down and possibly then injuring him bad, opens you up to a lawsuit, if not legal charges. Just ask Todd Bertuzzi.

This announcers are crazy. Cousins had no respect for the game with that hit, you can’t expect respect to be given to him. This play was good for the game

too much refpucking. However, even with the loss.. it was worth it to watch Cousins turtle like a little girl. That locker room will always know he a stab you in the back coward.

I'm not a fan of Columbus to any degree but i AM a fan of "an eye for an eye" and Cousins had this coming. Have a feeling that this ain't over by a longshot.
