@@Tenucha I never thought the trope was that the black person dies first. I tend to mock the trope of the black person dying at all. Alien, The Shining, Saw, Gremlins, Jurassic Park, Night of the Living Dead, Predator, Don't Breathe, Orphan, the list goes on.

I think my favorite tagline of any horror movie will always be “In space, no one can hear you scream” for Alien, which is appropriately my favorite horror movie. It's so simple, but it's so effective and makes perfect sense.

Husband and I finally watched Teeth after you two recommended it in this episode. It was fantastic! I was expecting the whole movie to be about sex as female empowerment, so I was pleasantly surprised to see vagina dentata used as a metaphor for how purity culture instills fear of your own body. Growing up in that culture made this movie hit home for me in a good way, and it felt good to see a character go through a similar arc of growing comfortable with her own sexuality. Looking forward to the Kill Count whenever James decides to tank the channel. 👍
