My fox herself gets very material and affectionate during this time of year. Spring is the most wonderful time of the year for coyotes and foxes, in my opinion 😊.

Wow, you can really tell how much Weaver trusts you now! At first even trying to scratch her, she’d nip at you. Now she lets you do whatever! It’s so cute

He’s raised her since she was a puppy so she’s trusted him for a good while now. She gets aggressive like that during the winter season as female coyotes are naturally very hormonal around that time and get kinda crazy like that.

I'm a bit confused. What signs are there that weave might be having puppies? I'm not too familiar with coyotes and their behavior, other than they look scrawny and mean. Whatever the case is, I hope Weave keeps making our days better, Puppies or no puppies.😊

Ooo turtle doves! I love them! They do mate for life! Listen to this story! Before my mom died, she would say "when you see a turtle dove, that's me..." now, my mom has been dead for 29 years..and I would see ALWAYS around, one turtle dove..then in 2021, my dad died of covid...he has never said anything about doves, but he did know what me mom has said years before...and guess what! Now, I always see 2!!!! There's 2 that actually live very close to my home...it's very cool!

Usually. With friendly but still wild coyotes, there's nothing I can find in the literature. Even though Duck isn't likely to have mated her, (we're not seeing signs of 'possession' either way) his presence might compound her having a coyote partner. It would take a heck of a nasty coyote to deal with him. Even though they may not be intimate, Duck does appear to be her protector.

Coyotes do mate for life. If it isn't Duck then there's a good chance she will slowly go wild with her pups.

@@timmc1269uI hope it's Duck. If it was another coyote, would you expect Weave to be away with that coyote, rather than curled up in bed outside the house with Duck? They do appear to be together, but it's only a short video, so hard to guess from here! 🇺🇸 🇬🇧

@@TheRealMick Be very careful what you wish for. What kind of future would the Coydogs have? Duck might be a wonderful father, he certainly has the behaviour to indicate that, but far better he father domestic dog pups rather than hybrids who'd be a mismatch in either society. Weave is a fascinating beast. I'd love to have her as a companion, but I'd also pray that she has a full and meaningful life being a Coyote. And free, even with all the consequences. Same for her pups. That being said, I had a retired Wolfdog sled team leader from the Yukon some years back. Amazing dog, incredible homing and directional skills, but being the team alpha, even at thirteen in retirement when I got him, I had to be very careful with him the first year or so. He expected other dogs to obey his commands. And then he mellowed in his final years (He passed on at 15) and just wanted to go to the park to play. There's an incredible amount of disinformation on coyotes, wolves and what-nots on-line. Here's a very good one: "Shifting perspectives: Coyotes aren’t luring your dog and other myths busted". Google the title. Tim has to play a heart-rending choice at times: Interfere or Not. Even Duck is given huge carte-blanche, and I'd do same. The biggest danger is humans, not other animals with higher social structures. Duck represents to me what is a perfect dog. Intact, but thoughtful....well...98% of the time. I'm no better. And able to roam free, knowing his limits.
