Hundreds audition, but only a select group will secure spots in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders training camp. DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell oversee the intense audition process and decide which hopefuls will make the team.

The first time I watched this I had totally forgotten how bad her hair was and realized after the fact I hadn't even recognized her lol. I've gotten so used to how she looks now.

She is not necessarily the best of the best. Some girls on that team have been dancing their whole lives and some have even danced professionally. Maddie needs to add more femininity to her dance and stop pulling exaggerated faces. She's really is just okay for me.

I think they did Maddie dirty that year. One minute she’s bottom 10 then “if we change her look she might be able to make it bc she’s a good dancer...” mixed messages till the day she got cut

No that year just wasn't her year at all. I think training camp and then getting a year to improve her dance really was what she needed.

You can also see Kelsey in the front. I know Amy (the one who tried out for like 6 years and never made it 🙁) was on that team at one point.

Thank you for pointing that out! I didn't even see her the first time I watched this. Vivian might've been a little kooky or quirky, but she was still one of my favorites. I think she's beautiful, & for them to call her legs "drumsticks" was rude. The top of the boot to her knee had the same distance between them the girls in pics on the wall had. It just didn't make sense to me that they said she didn't have the "DCC look" but Cassie T. did?? No way. Lol ..Judy wasn't Vivian's mom, though. 🤷♀️ Vivian looks great in that group pic!

Does anyone remember if Colby ever made the team that year? I remember they were impressed by her because she was the oldest in the group. I think she was in her thirties at the time.

She only made it to training camp because of the fan vote. IMO Kelli and Judy never seemed to like her that much and criticized her look and dancing constantly until she was sent home..

Just be careful, you’d have to work your butt off, work other part-time jobs and follow all their nonsensical rules while still being underpaid. It seems glamorous but be careful what you choose.

@@trendymaths2467 More pay is nice, but it will not make up for the toxic environment, how nasty Kelli and Charlotte treat the girls, and the mean girls on the squad. They could pay the girls the big bucks, but it is the emotional damage at the end of the day that needs to be address. All the money in the world would not heal the damage caused by eating disorders, the bullying, and the toxic environment going on behind closed doors.

Colby got cut in season 10, episode 4, so did Emily so didn’t have what it took to be a cheerleader. She didn’t know the routine at all.

There was an episode where Kelly was really condescending towards Kristen. Kristen didn’t understand Kelly’s feedback and just wanted clarification. I felt so bad for Kristen. 😪
