i feel the guy's perseverance to become a singer stems from his wive's rejection. Men want to prove to their women they can achieve anything they set their mind to. honestly speaking, his voice is actually soothing, however he needs professional help to help him strengthen his voice. it wont help him become a national star, but at least he can sing on youtube and to his daughter as a hobby. he also has to be mindful that he isnt spending too damn much on this dream cause he has a child and a wife. He really ought to be more responsible.

I felt the same too 😟It's true he should more responsible and try to find a ground with his wife but laughing out loud and really showing it ; is not fine either .he has a nice voice but the fact he's probably nervous and him trying to imitate the singer is what makes it sounds not so good from what if he tried to sing more naturally in his own voice tone.

I knew there’ll be at least a comment that be like “it was SO wrong for the audience to laugh at him and other ppl”. It was funny, he sung terribly and people laugh. Lorena Francesca he didn’t sing terribly. I don’t think it was funny either. The guy has a dream, let him be. There are ways to make him be more responsible without humiliating him. There are other issues that are MORE serious that need to be addressed in such a way.

@@HoneySoifon I think it's a serious issue if he's not helping his family only running after his dream -- he doesn't communicate with his wife, doesn't know what her dream is, doesn't help with chores, just drinks, sings, and spends money. I think it's easy for people who don't have families or don't understand what it's like to be an adult with a family to not understand that he is making his wife's and kid's lives very difficult. He also wanted people's opinions, and the audience gave their honest opinion. Park Ki Young also gave him a very realistic opinion. I also come from a parent who does music professionally, and his voice isn't terrible but he doesn't have the basics down. If it was his dream since long ago, I would've thought he would have worked a bit more towards his dream and worked on technical skills rather than copying someone else's style.

I agree that moving out would be the best option, however rents in South Korea (particularly Seoul) are on a whole different level than here in Europe (or where you live I'm assuming too). There's a reason why it's absolutely normal to stay with your parents until you get married or have a high salery in South Korea, you just can't afford to buy or even rent something.

I think, that impression of Shownu not caring is a misconception. He doesn't express himself a lot, because he's a very introverted and shy person outside of his stage persona, but he certainly cares a lot and not just about his loved ones or fans. For example, during the first concern, he actively suggested the man to get a job at a live café to practice singing in front of an audience and as many others already pointed out, he didn't laugh when the man sang. He knew how much this dreams means to him.

Shownu is a man of few words and more actions. That doesn’t make him someone who doesn’t care about life. He’s very responsible and caring

His dream is nice, and it's not an impossibility. However, he won't make it the way he is right now. He has to face the truth and then do something about it. Either he changes the truth by getting better, or he gives up on his dream, or slightly changes it. He probably earns more doing his normal job than a lot of singers do, so he has to think about that as well. Being a singer might look glamorous and all, but it's not really a high paying job unless you're popular.

Sure she was wrong saying he should stop dreaming but he himself is wrong too. Trying hard to achieve your dreams and simply hoping for it to happen one day are completely different things. With the money he's wasting on Karaoke and drinking, he could easily start by taking singing lessons. Also, he doesn't seem to care that for his selfishness he is sacrificing his daughter's health and growth. He really needs to start being a better father and husband. Saying his dream is impossible is bad. There is never a 0% chance. He just needs to put in the effort. Take Beethoven for example, he was deaf but he became one of the biggest composers today. He needs to be more willing and hardworking instead of simply waiting for a miracle to happen.
