Amit Kumar is such a down-to-earth personality. In every word that he speaks , his love, awe & admiration for his father is so apparent. Irfan Sir was so sensitive while asking Amit to share those facets about his father that the world doesn't know & how overwhelmed Amit Kumar was when he replied. Kishoreda was a genius & Amit carved his own niche with his soulful renditions. He has regaled us in two episodes of Indian Idol Season 12 & it is hard to imagine he is around 68.

Looking at Amit Kumar I'm just imagining that he's a treasure of information on Kishore Kumar and since he has started resembling his father, how interesting and exciting it would be for a director to pick up a script on Kishore Da's life in collaboration with Amit Kumar and then take Amit Kumar as the lead in Kishore Kumar's biopic. If good homework is put in this project, then it could turn out a legendary film and give a lovely tribute to both Kishore Kumar and Amit Kumar simultaneously.

Very good thought, Rishi ji. You know what, How fortunate KK was who saw his son getting filmfare award in 1981 when he himself was very young and both father son were equally successful at the same tide. in 80's KK won more filmfare awards than in his whole life. God Bless Amit Kumar and long live Kishore Kumar sahib in our hearts forever.

किशोर दा और अमित कुमार के बाप बेटे के सम्बन्ध तो जगजाहिर है। इसके अलावा उनका सम्बन्ध भगवान-भक्त, गुरु-चेला और दोस्ताना भी था जो इस गुफ्तगू के दोनों एपिसोड के रिलीज होने के बाद जगजाहिर हो गया।🙏💐🙏💐🙏💐

Amit Kumar ji is 68, but looks so young. That is music in him. He does not look that old from any standards. He and Rishi Kapoor were born in the same year. This recording was in 2013, but even in 2020 he looks and feel same. Lately we saw him twice in Kapil Sharma show. God Bless you Amit ji.

I heard Amit ji songs before I heard Kishore Da's. Love story released when I had just entered primary school. Been Kumar Gaurav's fan... Lot of memories come when I hear Amit ji singing. It's true that Kishore Kumar was a legend. Amit ji has his own voice and style. No use in comparing him with his father.

Someone who grew up in the company of Madan Mohan, Salil Chowdhary and sang some of Panchamda's best hits had no musicians of that level after Panchamda passed.. Amita Kumar IS awesome in his own right and not just a son who basked in the glory of KK. Never the less ..Amitji.. kya hua kiss baat par..'"..we still long for your songs..new ones

he is quite right ...he wasnt treated very well in 90's....its true that amit vanished for a while in the 80's but made a comeback singing most of his songs for RD between 90-93, altho RD dint have too many movies back then ,,, his songs for gurudev recorded in 92 with RD were smash hits , he and RD were true friends meeting up every evening in someone's boutiq in juhu or RD's house in khar area ....he was too attached to RD but as RD went down he also started feeling alienated

Hi Amit Kumar , It is so sad that you never mention your mother in any interview . She was a great singer , actor , dancer . She was classy lady with very Sophisticated heritage She was also a very politically conscious personality . She was your mother . You have must have inherited some of her qualities. Your grandmother was a great singer . You are composite Of all these qualities . You should be proud of them. KISHORE Kumar is part of you only. Ruma Ghose was heart throb was Bengal of that time . Mrs Gandhi recognised her. You should have been Proud of her as a son . But t o tell the truth I admire your simplicity I am 87 yours old , witnessed a lot. Be proud of your. This is from 2013.. He is 60 here. He But yes he looks much younger than his age. He is 67 today and now he looks about 52. May God bless him with long life and healthy life and lots of happiness. Amitji is a living legend and diamond.

Amit da u r really great but some music director did the politics with u thts y u didn't sing songs so much in 90's . Kumar sanu has been came in 90's n he did so much politics with u . I saw u never sung with Kumar sanu . Only one song u sung with Kumar sanu in kroadh movie . Salute to u Amit da . U r in our heart n always will be in our heart.

It is more than evident today that Amit Kumar has been overshadowed by Kishore Kumar's genius and music career. His podcast is also dedicated to Kishore Kumar, he is invited to interviews and talk shows to mostly tell stories about Kishore Kumar. Now this was extremely likely to happen, because Kishore Kumar was a phenomena and still is to this day; perhaps the most celebrated musical artist India has ever seen. Despite these issues, Amit Kumar never copied Kishore's music style and remained true to his own distinct voice. He also mentions pretty often that he didn't have to work too hard for his career and was served one on a platter because of Kishore, and this acknowledgement deserves respect. He definitely fought hard for his image later on, and he surely did great. Seems quite a jolly and likeable person too.
