I never though about this! Thanks for the information. I just started getting into some Omnibus books with Wonder Woman Golden Age I have 3 volumes so I need to try this out!

I just got the Blackest Night omni and I can already see the first signature seperating from the sewing. I like to elevate the opposite end of the book with something as to ease the weight pushing down on the first issues when I start reading the bigger books.

this is a great idea, if i notice a book has particularly tight binding i will often hold one side of the book up so that i am opening it considerably less than 180 degrees

Hi there! Is it necessary to do this before every single reading session, or can you just do it three times at the outset and then open it at any time to whatever page you want? Someone on Reddit suggested letting the pages down until you get to the middle and then turning to the page you need, implying it should be done every time you open it. Is this necessary? Thank you!

It's not necessary to do it every time you read it, as long as you've done a good job relaxing the spine when you first open it.. That being said, I have ocd when it comes to my omnis, so I actually do still go this process if I haven't opened it for a long time and/or if it's a particularly fat omni. I don't do as thorough of a job as I did at the beginning though. I just do a quick version.. It's not something you have to do, but I just like to try and take extra good care of them, because they are expensive and some of them are not made as well as others, especially the older editions.

I have a question for you... I’ve stretched the spine on a couple of Omni’s in the last few days... Fantastic Four By John Byrne Vol 1 and Marvel Universe By Byrne Vol 1. Followed your instructions, and the inner spine looks fine, however, the outer spine has molded to the shape of the inner spine on both books. They haven’t cracked, but I’m concerned they will over time. Any advise on this will be most appreciated! 👍

If i am understanding correctly...the outer spine, what you see on the shelf (assuming there is no DJ), folds in when you read instead of laying flat? If that is correct I wouldn't worry about it splitting, but it may crease. I have heard of people gluing rulers to them to prevent it from folding weird, but have never tried it myself.

What advice do you have for when you're at the stat, or end of a thick omnibus? the middle of the book is self explanatory as per the video, however, when reading the first 1/4 of the book, all the weight is on the alternate side... resulting in the front cover bending back-over against the spine. I just picked up my fist omni and want it to last. :) Thanks

Hi, i recently bought amazing spiderman classic 1 (i live in italy so things arrives much later unfortunatly). I read 1 hour the first 30/40 pages with the spine down on a pillow (i was laying the big side on mi hand on like 30/45 degrese and let the other one on its own) will it effect negativetly the book? Also i see the hard cover agles pointing a little bit downwords (not very much, only if you know it you will notice it). I will be very happy if anyone can tell me if it's gping to be ok ot not😁.

My venom vs spider man omnibus my I literally took it out of the shrink wrap as soon as I started stretching it the spine creased up I am so depressed rn 😞😞😞😞
