Thank you for these, I was playing the Daring Dragon build on my Bladesworn and it felt quite anemic vs. the Champion Earth Elemental in Amnytas. Swapped to condiZerker but I'll have to give these a whirl. Warriors do need a solid balance patch but you're keeping them rocking on!

9:17 I actually know why it works this way. Gunsaber skills do not have a 20 second or longer Recharge as the listed skill recharge on their tooltip. The Count Recharge for ammo is what is 20 seconds on Gunsaber 4 and 5. Relic of Fireworks only looks at the listed base recharge (the orange circling arrow icon) of the skill, not the actual recharge, or any other mechanics that may be involved in shortening or lengthening that recharge time. So if you look at Gunsaber 5, it has a Recharge of 1 second between uses, until you run out of ammo for it. Fireworks sees that 1 second recharge, and thus will not proc.. This is also why Alacrity doesn't mess up the Relic if you have a skill with a base Recharge of 20 seconds (which would lower to 16 seconds with Alacrity).

It is treated as a kit not a weapon skill (like the engi kits would be) - some things have to use them differently for balance sake as engis can abuse the kits otherwise with multiple kits. Bladesworn inherits some of the fallout from that as they just made the gunsaber a kit. What you are referring to is normal on Mantras and other stacked abilities and they all go off the count recharge not the recast delay.

⁠@@elvenremnantit is not because it is a kit, as every other kit and transformation that has a 20 second or longer cooldown ability which applies a strike does work with Fireworks. There are, to my knowledge, no other Ammo skills which interact with Fireworks, as all other weapon skills with an Ammo count have both a base recharge and a count recharge of less than 20 seconds. But no, it is not because they are a kit, as other kits work with the Relic, and claiming “it is because it is a kit” when engineer kits work with the Relic makes no sense. If you could find another Ammo skill with a >20 second Count Recharge that does proc Fireworks I’d maybe believe you, but so far it appears to be the recharge of the skill, not the count recharge, that Fireworks looks at. Edit: Also, “some things have to use them differently for balance sake as envis can abuse the kits otherwise”…… what does this even mean? This makes no sense, and explains nothing. Can you elaborate on this?

I noticed that new kryptis mobs tend to apply a lot more conditions, so mending alone is often not enough on spellbreaker. If I were to sacrifice a skill to include shake it off, would it be better to scrap signet of might or for great justice? Or maybe use sigils of cleansing on weapons? Thanks for great video.

yea sadly: * Dragon hunter: cant generate its own boons or able to self-heal itself without losing DPS * Firebrand: After the pages rework you can only choose to play full DPS and lose sustain or full sustain and lose, you cant have both like willbender

@@LordHizenalthough its true for dragonhunter - firebrand is not that bad You can play it in celestial pretty well The last nerf to passive burning hurt him bad but he can still be played in open world as a hybrid build Is he as strong as before? Unfortunately not but firebrand is still pretty good Plus you have quite good versatility because…guardian and all tomes too Pls give him a try 😊

Toxic positivity is a thing with this game. I mean how else can you explain getting attacked for bashing devs that think 1,3k crit single target dmg on a 30 sec relic that can only be triggered by an elite skill once is something that this game needed? I mean, even with 100% crit chance and lots of crit dmg , that would be what 1800/30s = 60 dps for a relic? There is seriously something wrong with Anet balancing department.

@@beyondthelol That in itself is fine. But as Hizen said out of 52 relics there are, what maybe 4 that are good. Because there is no limitations or requirements out of just having the relic, it has effectively killed build diversity. In WvW and open world I would see people run Rune of the Golemancer to summon a golem to help with fights. Vampirism was amazing for open world because you got 10% of your health back with each kill. I ran Runes of Torment to get a nice regen effect to help the sustain for my condi Herald. The list goes on of Runes that people used. Not all Runes were good or even used Im sure but it was a heck of a lot more than 4. The next part of the expansion is gonna add another 10, but whose to say it will even dethrone or impact the usage of the 2-3 core relics and 1 expansion relic everybody is talking about right now. Anet needs a serious revamp/patch of the relics themselves.

Power Herald is great for endgame content like raids, strikes, and maybe fractals but when it comes to solo play in open world, it will be squishy and hard to sustain itself while dealing damage & it will do less damage compared to condition version

If I'm fighting Avatar of Gluttony as Willbender, do you think Relic of Cerus is a good choice to strip the boons off the boss or just keep spamming feel my wrath off cooldown and just not worrying about it would be better?

Avatar of Gluttony is a challenging boss for the specs who generate boons and don't have boon strip, so cerus is a good relic to use against it to remove the boons but its better if you time blocking & dodging his scream attacks to avoid his boons strip

On Willbender, I notice you're using main hand Sword. Why not switch to Axe for the additional conditions?

I tested the axe and sword for willbender, the sword performed slightly better since it attacks faster to proc the F skills effects (more burning stacks)

I tested the axe and sword for willbender, the sword performed slightly better since it attacks faster to proc the F skills effects (more burning stacks) Focus works but if you swap to focus you wont be able to use skill 4 in torch when the trait proc it = DPS drop

not in open world scenario (solo play), aristocracy will increase the duration of your conditions including the vulnerability that increase you total damage + you can proc the relic by burst skills (weakness) and by sigil of frailty

I believe Dragon Slash is coded as a “Profession Mechanic”, not a weapon skill, and thus will not proc Relic of the Thief, since it gains benefits from Burst Skill buffs in Enhancements. A little counter intuitive but the likely reason.

Hey - awesome builds as usual! However i wonder why you exlcude shortbow for vindicator - you mention that the CC from staff is requires, however shortbow bringts a CC skill as well .. and andditionally conditions to increase the dmg So i would love to know why you prefer staff

the CC on shortbow is small not enough to break bosses or hard elite mobs defiant bar fast like staff, but if you want to use shortbow as a 2nd weapon then sure go for it

Hey Hizen, I'm relatively new to herald, and watching your rotation I noticed that you don't instantly consume facet of strength (which, if I'm not mistaken, you can do twice in a single glint rotation), and I was wondering why. Is it because you want to save burst of strength for your mallyx rotation? Thanks for the video btw, great stuff for new players like me :)

You can only use facet of strength twice when you have alacrity boon, which is something heralded can’t generate without others help, because the cooldown of the facet is 12s and it’s not worth it to delay swapping demon stance to use twice.

Have you tried the Relic of the Warrior with Willbender? The sustain from defender does look really nice, but the faster weapon swapping on Willbender goes pretty hard.

@rolf1819 I'm not a pvp player so I can't really help you much there. As for open world, the build I play has been largely the same as Hizen's, just with a different Relic and swapped a few skills around here and there.

Relic of the Warrior on berserker builds with Discipline are nuts. Hammer primal burst into rifle primal burst into hammer... (With hammer traits in defense & burst mastery for 10 adrenaline on every weapon swap) condi berserker on arms does the same with Furious. LB F1 into Sword F1 etc.

the way Anet talked about the rune and relic system it seemd like they were weak before to balance them and that making them seperate from armor would mean they are less limited .... then we get some of the fun ones removed the good ones removed and then some were even nerfed or are buged (the monk rune isnt applying its stacks as it used to) so yeah it does feel like like a "lets make it worthless because thats the same as balanced" situation -.-

I LOVE the idea of relics so I don't need to take stats I don't want for the 6th slot effect I DO want... But WOWEE are the effects on the vast majority of theses just BAD. It took the amazing utility of great 6th slot rune abilities and replaced them with super short duration gimmicks on massive internal cooldowns. I already miss the might generation like Aristocracy might stacks healing warriors, or the healing like the old Torment runes. Here's hoping they make some general AND class specific sustain relics like might gen for warriors, or various condition or crit applications = regen or barrier. And some relics that work a bit better with instanced Power DPS's.

For the celestial spellbreaker build, why not use Aggressive Onslaught instead of Berserker's Power in Strength? Uptime is really high and looks to do more damage. Also allows you to avoid weapon swap for quickness and stay comfy. Is there something I am missing?

I have also been experimenting with Mace/Mace in the weapon swap instead of Dagger/Axe. Allows you to maintain Might Stacks, quickness, and Stability through disables. It seems pretty solid.

For Celestial Spellbreaker, since we now have Relic of the Midnight King, would it be better use it instead of Thief relic so we can drop For Great Justice and run Bull's Charge in it's place?
