Rigo completely dominated cordoba in the first 5 rounds. Rigo didn't have much experience in the later rounds. He was in uncharted territory. He switched from amateur style of boxing to a more professional style after that fight. Rigo needed to go thru that. He's made the switch and is looking better than ever. Rigo has lots of heart. People seem to forget he's new under this system where he doesnt have much experience but is doing a damn fine job adjusting...

Commentator keeps mentioning that Ramos should throw the left hook. What he doesn't understand is that when Ramos goes to load the lead hook he brings his head in the line of fire for Rigondeaux's hairpin trigger straight. he feels that pressure and doesn't want to risk it.

@hvcool that is true, but I would expect Rigondeaux to attack first. I greatly respect Rigondeaux (and had the chance to see him in Athens 2004) but this is pro boxing and he needs to put on a good show everytime, not just win!

I have to be honest with u. I never saw the marroquin fight until a few hours ago. Rigo went up against a guy 31/2 inches taller and 6 pounds over the limit. A guy with a 22-1 record who's never been knocked down before this fight and Rigo went in and outboxed and outclassed him the who time. Marroquin got 2 lucky punches in the whole fight. Even the commentators were calling him a master. He would counter the shit out of donaire. One donaire tastes bodyshots he's gonna run like narvaez fight :)

What hurt Ramos was the body punch (to the ribs) right before the "rabbit" punch. Watch the fight again! The problem is that Rigondeaux is too fast. People only see Ramos attacking - look how fast Rigondeaux punishes Ramos ribs. Just 2 seconds before the rabbit punch.

What is Rigo's style in boxing? He fights like a fighting in a street. One dimensional.

Donaire needs to fight Rigondeaux before he moves to Featherweight. If he moves to Featherweight without fighting him. No doubt he's ducking. On another note I think Rigondeaux needs to fight Arce or Mares if he wants the fight with Donaire. He needs get more boxing fans on his side and make a case for the fight with Donaire. Calling him out ain't enough.

Rigo struggled ??? Have u seen his fights ? He's dominated over 90% of the time while I seen donaire barely win against nobodies. Rigo struggled against cordoba( in the later rounds cause he got completely smashed by Rigo in the first 5 rounds) and a lil bit with marroquin while converting to the American style of boxing. He made the switch and is now better than ever and has proved it. Tell me, other than those fights, when have u ever seen Rigo struggle ?

Easy work for Donaire if the Rigondeaux fight ever happens. No disrespect to the Cuban fighter who had 400 something fights in the amateur but this is a professional boxing. I don't see anything special from Rigo.

you obviously hav'nt followed boxing for long, the smaller weights are less glamourous and even tho most consider Rigo is the no1 guy at this weight he being Cuban does'nt bring any casual fans hence lots of danger for little money, Bob arum is all about money hence why Rigo is avoided.
