Guilty Gear Xrd Rev2 - Sol Unique Dialog Translation

Quite a bit of voice work in Rev2 is unique versus other characters. Some of the in-game translations are done a bit loosely, however the Axl vs Sol intro is left over from an old version and the subtitles were never updated.
A few generic lines are labelled as such, but the rest are all unique lines.

Also, Sol has 3 different win qotes against Ky, one is "How about staying down" showed in the video, one is "Go to sleep, little boy" (a reference to his very first win quote against him in GG1), and another tha i can't recall right now. I don't think anyone else has multiple specific qhotes, tho.

This is awesome! The worst thing about this having no english dub is that we don't know what they're saying when fighting. Thanks a million for this.

Not everyone appreciates dubs but for people who don’t speak the native language of the game, it’s appreciated. Especially if done well, it can give even more personality and help elevate the game IMO.

If I remember correcty, the Sol vs. Ky intro actually says something like "Sol: I need a moment of you to talk; Ky: If it can't be helped" (not direct translation, but that's the feel of it). It's a reversal of a classic Intro of theirs, where Ky asks for a moment and Sol awnser with "Give me a break..." or something like that, It was included in Rev1.

They might have taken that out with Rev 2, I couldn't find that in the upk voice file. I did leave out one intro where Ky asks for a moment and Sol says 'Whatever' but I gave up trying to get it to trigger.

This was the main one in Rev, but was replaced by the reversed one in Rev2

@@redneckedcrake7059 You could simply play SIGN and voila Omega is right Ky (SIGN): Sukoshi tsukiatte morauzo Sol (Rev2): Sukoshi tsukiae (literally the same thing but informal speech, the answer each other gives too)

Thanks a lot for the translation ! I'm no expert, but I think I've spotted some mistakes : at 1:02 Ky says something like : "Again,... I can't reach him" or "Again... I'm no match for him" (he clearly says "todokanai" which is "can't reach") at 1:15 Ky says : "So I... can't win against you ?" at 4:14 I thinks Sol says "You weren't (fighting) serious(ly) right ?" at 5:24 he says "What happened to your confidence from earlier ?" At 8:25 Sin says "That's frustrating but..." not that it hurt Thanks again, I enjoyed this !

And Sol's part of his quote against Axl is not mistranslated, it was just left unedited from rev1.

I'm not sure what you mean, I'm fairly sure the subtitle in game is not at all what's spoken.

in SIGN and REVELATOR the subtitles were accurate, but in REV2 they changed the spoken part, but the translation forgot to change the subtitles, which remained from the original one instead.

I'm surprised you didn't address the very first one, which is simply sol saying ky's usual line from pretty much all their previous vs quotes Please a moment of your time-I have no choice (Said in a more aggressive way as expected of sol, but eh, the same shit) Some others are misleading, too Ex: 0:26 じょうとだ Very good! or Very well! or something like that (which is his very same quote from Xrd Sign trailer #1) 0:29 Kageno hitsuyo ha ne-na (An expression of the very same quote from Ky intro vs sol in GGX "Kageno hitsuwanai..."->"You don't have to hold back...") 0:35 じょうとだ TEMEE! (Again, the very quote from SIGN trailer, and repeated in here you give it another translation. Which i approve actually, literal translations are not always the way to go.) (Temee is like saying... "bastard!" or whatever insult. Punk is ok.) 0:37 waruku ne na (Maybe yours is right. I'd say it's a reference to a common quote of his: "No hard feelings") 1:03 mata todokanai (no idea how to translate this one properly but it's like "Again..i couldn't make it") 1:12 omae ni ha katenaino ka (I can't defeat you, huh...) 3:53 kona yatsu ga iru no ka (To think there is someone like this) The next one is alright, he literally said "Like an illusion" or "like a dream" (maboroshi) but it will do the next one "are you for real" but it will do You did pretty awesome on all the others , thank you very much for this video I don't have as good hearing as you though so i'm not sure on the other ones but you did a pretty good job just some things are not quite right My humble opinion
