hi Bronwyn welcome the main problem is old age , they slow down and if it a boy he need room where he can relax and not have to fight so bits are the main injury, young boys sparring over who the boss but the girls seem good all the time but you don’t want older girls, having babies as then there are more health risks , I keep the boys and girls separate good food , room to exercise , not suffering from the cold and being able to cool off , and avoiding chemicals I grow most of there food so it is organic

yes all of the above cat are controlled and all micro chipped, big fines if your cat wanders all cat are desexed and very expensive, so there is no cat around at all . i am right in the city it a development sit I own , my little ones were on another property of mine but foxes came around and killed about 50 of my chickens one night so I move my little ones to where they are now, put the unite developed on hold Health and safety is always a concern, for us all and for the ones we care about

hi David interesting you could end up with a range of problems, in the long term I just use a low fence only 350 mm in height works well for my little ones but just working with the little ones and sorting out what you see as best is so rewarding and lifts your happiness to a new leave all the best moving forward sounds great

thank youOriental back yard garden no they pick and choose sometimes they eat more of one vegetable and the next day hardly look at it we clean up what not eaten as with the warm weather things go off the chickens received a lot and scraps go in to compost they eat the best on offer and leave skin and bits thank you so much
