In a breathtaking display of courage and national pride, Kozhikode native and IT professional turned entrepreneur, Jithin Vijayan, has soared into the international spotlight by setting a new world record in skydiving. Achieving a Guinness World Record for the longest freefall, Vijayan took the leap from an astonishing altitude of 42,431 feet, freefalling for a record-breaking 2.47 minutes. Remarkably, this fearless feat was accomplished while carrying the Indian flag, earning him another world record for the highest altitude skydive with a flag. At 41 years old, Vijayan is no stranger to the skydiving scene, already holding multiple records in the sport. His recent jump not only set a new benchmark for skydiving enthusiasts worldwide but also placed him in the Asian records for the highest altitude skydive and for the maximum distance traveled without a parachute (36,929 feet), as approved by the World Air Sports Federation.
