Yes! The D'Adadario XS's are now my go to for my Bluegrass guitar. They sound great, and with my dozen or so instruments that I have to keep strings on, the wear factor makes it a no brainer.

Blue Chip TP 48, and also like the Dunlop Primetone .88 and the 1.0 Primetone. Strings I alternate between D’Addario EJ17’s and Martin SP Phosphor Bronze, or 80/20’s every now and then. This is for my Martin D28 Reimagined. I need to try D’addario Nickel bronze strings.

I still use tortoise, although finding material is really hard, I go to a lot of antique shops and buy what I can find but I really want to get my hands on a Wyatt Rice Apollo signature pick.

John I believe made a mistake when you stated that the GHS Americana has a .026" and .036" core wire in the center. I think you meant that they have .036" and .046" string wind diameters for the D and A (not core wire) unlike most medium P.B. sets that have .035" and .045". To my ear, XS sounds less clear, less bright, less volume than the EJ17 but do last 3-4 times longer.

Blue chip for me.

I'm literally looking at a blue chip TD 40 that I killed in about 4 months, lol. I wish I didn't go through picks so fast because I'm super broke and I spend so much money on strings and picks. I was killing wound Gs with metal finger picks in a few days, until I stared using nickel plated steel wound Gs, now they last more than a week

Playing too hard, bro. Shouldn’t be going through picks and strings in days or a week. Dynamics are a big part of music.

I've got a bluechip TAD 40, which sounds great. my TAD 60 is too mellow for me. I wonder if people use bluechips that are too thick, because most people I hear seem to use the fatter ones which are definitely too mellow for me.

I love my cradle capo, but I just got a new guitar(Boucher BG51) and the area where the neck meets the headstock is too thick to rest the cradle capo on the other side of the nut when you're not playing it, its the only thing I don't like about my new guitar.

Hi. I have 2 Boucher guitar and my d’addario cradle cape has no problem going over that “lump” behind the neck. Maybe you should try that capo. 👍
@user-wj7qt1zi3i
@user-wj7qt1zi3i 9 ай бұрын
Hi. Sorry. It doesn’t over the lump . It sits on an angle behind the nut and before that lump. Doesn’t effect my playing at all 👍

Same problem with the volute on D-28s. In fact they're even harder than the Boucher neck end. D-18 is find, and it depends how big your cradle capo will go.

Me, I kill them in like 4 months if I'm using it as my only pick. I would love to know why this is. I don't even play an insane amount, I probably play 2-4 hours a day 6-7 days a week

The only problem with the "park behind the nut" capos is of course it will drag over the finish so it is going to leave a mark after a while.

i thought the same thing until i bought one and it doesn’t wear out. i was ruining jazz III’s in like 4 days, vs my bluechip which is literally looking and feeling like it was the day i bought it, and it still hasn’t lost its edge.
