I appreciate your beautiful performances and this rare opportunity to hear the differences in each different style of those guitars. It would be wonderful to know the string length of those instruments so that I could learn how the different string length makes different tones.

I’m not trying to be a prick but it was only an hour. I mean, I’m not even close to a master And I used to play five hours from memory on the sidewalk, in Tippecanoe... for like $30-$50..... oh me oh my....I mean I’m sure he has ten times this memorized. I am actually angry that I’ve had so many setbacks I can’t even play for three hours from memory now, I should be doing ten hours... as hard as I’ve worked at it...

Amazing the sheer sound quality and beauty of inlays of 19th Century French luthiers' guitars. My pick? Well, the Friederich (in this case 20th Century) is wonderful and the tone is notably more contemporary. The Gerard, the Vincente Arias and the Zimmerman impressed me also followed by the Lacote and the Genaro. Finally, the Torres, which maybe deserves high tension black strings... Anyway, amazing collection, playing and setting. Kudos to David Jaques for this very inspiring moment. I am now looking in the market for a 19th Century classical guitar.

The Guiot looks quite much like a Panormo and many of the Panormo's also have a seven fan bracing. So i wonder who copied who. Very interesting to hear the difference between the two here. I prefere the Panormo but that's a matter of personal taste. The Torres of course is also sensational. Not in vain he has become famous during lifetime. The Torres made a big step towards the modern spanish guitar in terms of the sound and also it's construction ofcourse. That italian guitar by Gennaro de Roma is also an intersting guitar although in my opinion it sounds a bit box like and antiquated compared to spanish guitars of that epoch. That Lacote is of interst too ofcourse. I assume he got famous for a reason too. The guitar sounds good. Those french guitars have their own voice. They should not be coparred with the spanish guitars of that epoch although they are. The Soriot has a long sustain and many natural harmonics. It's a pretty good guitar too. Very interesting demonstration of all those antique guitars. Thank you!
