I had a few commenters on my videos worried about the "HUGE AMOUNT OF WASTE WOOD" I produced with my guitar builds, and in my last video I explained that I started woodworking by working exclusively with scrap wood.
I still have the same philosophy today: I very rarely buy wood to make one specific project, every once in a while I go to the lumber yard and buy one rough sawn board, because I ran out of boards big enough for my projects or because I decided to learn to work with a new species, then I turn every single, tiniest, part of that board into something.
If you're new to woodworking, here's my advice: it's a very fun way to learn! When you work with the original board, then the offcuts of your initial project, then the offcuts of those offcuts etc. , the projects get smaller and smaller, and you'll automatically learn new aspect of the craft and explore the whole range of the wood you picked, from a kitchen table, to a toothpick holder.
Anyway, a movie is better than a thousand confused words, I'll let you see what I did with One Piece Guitar Offcuts ...
From furniture to guitar. From guitar to furniture. The circle is complete. That's a haiku (no it's not).
