My 7 yo son was in the car and we were listening to this. I told him to close his eyes. Kid fell into a deep trance in 10 seconds. (Literally drooling). When he song ended, he snapped back up and looked like he had no idea where he was. I asked him where it felt like he went. He said “I was lost in the woods.” Wow dude, your work has some power in it.

I remember when ZZ Top was getting established that they were difficult to “peg”; not pure country, but not typical blues either. Billy Strings is Billy Strings and he can’t be pegged. He’s creating audio art from what’s inside him, and I love the way he’s doing it. I’m 62 and can say that it’s rare, about once in a generation, that I’ve seen someone as unique, supremely talented and driven to great create music come along and take it to a new level like Billy Strings is doing. I love seeing and hearing him and his Dad playing together. Most young artists are too image driven, trying to create a plastic image to gain popularity and fame to be seen jamming with their father, even when he is as great as Billy’s Dad is. Their family, by being genuine, is showing how it can be done; transcend all the typical music industry hype and manipulation and do and play what you love. Thanks for being genuine and letting us go along for the journey. Seeing the honesty is inspiring.

When you start young enough and played enough that the tips of your fingers on your fretting hand are bent outward, you know you are there! This boy is the best. And not cubby holed into any genre. He can play anything. And play it well. Plus he has a great voice and plenty of stage presents. You go boy! I’ll just set here and watch in amazement. Now excuse me while I go smash one of my guitars! 😬

Absolutely some of the best shit I’ve ever heard and felt in my life. You can feel he has put his entire soul into this music which is not to be taken lightly. Treating every song like it is a masterpiece is how you are deemed one of the best and that’s what Billy does. I am so glad I found this shit I will die a Billy Stings fan.

My daddy played the guitar 🎸 and the banjo I've been playing since I was a little girl and now I taught my daughter we play by ear I play the piano too great gift from God to give us the gift of music. I love the greatful dead but my daddy was a bluegrass player. He could whistle the Irish melody perfectly along with his guitar.
