The song is almost 5 years old. It was on BABYMETAL's Metal Galaxy album, their 3rd album, it was released in 2019. It is certainly one of BABYMETAL's more 'chill' songs ... but they do everything. That's one reason their collaborations all work so well (yes there are more collaborations and featured artists on some of their songs with people like Tom Morello, Electric Callboy, Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce, Joakim Broden from Sabaton, Bring Me The Horizon, Thai rapper F Hero and Thailand's biggest rock band Bodyslam, Tak Matsumoto the guitarist with Japan's biggest ever selling band B'z and the list goes on - they even performed 'Painkiller' and 'Breaking the Law' with Rob Halford from Judas Priest who described them as "the future of metal" and has since said he would love to record an original song with them) as they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are collaborating with. This performance was filmed at Fox_Fest, a two day event arranged, hosted and headlined by BABYMETAL in Tokyo. There aren't many Japanese bands I can think of who could arrange their own festival inviting bands like Polyphia and Electric Callboy and have them agree to play. In fact if you know of any other Japanese bands who have become known in the west in the last 10 years you can thank BABYMETAL for being so innovative and original - and basically so good and so professional - that they opened the eyes of the west to what else might be happening musically in Japan and for showing those other bands what might be possible with regard to touring the world. Tim Henson and Scott le Page provided and recorded the guitar tracks for the original recording of the song. Fox_Fest was the first chance they all had to meet up and to finally do this very first live performance with them all together. There is no other band quite like BABYMETAL, by far the best live entertainment of any kind that I have had the privilege to experience in person. No they do not sing to pre-recorded music - and why on earth did you think that was the case? They haven't done that since 2013 when they couldn't afford a live band - and the live band was being phased in from October 2012 in preparation for when they would separate from their parent J-Pop group to become an independent band in 2013. The Kami Band from 2013 through to January 2023 were the very best Japanese session musicians. They would swap in and out depending on their own availability, but the same hard core of about 6 musicians played the vast majority of live shows. In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians Chris Kelly, CJ Masciantonio on guitars, Clint Tustin or Ryan Neff on bass and Anthony Barone on drums) were introduced to support BABYMETAL on their increasingly lengthy foreign tours and they have been ever present for all concerts since April 1st 2023 (that was nearly 100 in 25 countries in 2023 and so many festivals and concerts already in 2024). It seems you missed a couple of wider angle shots of the whole stage - the Kami Band were on either side of the raised platform where the girls, Tim and Scott were. BABYMETAL were formed and developed around the vocal talents of lead singer Su-metal (she was 12 when they started in 2010 - she is 26 now), but don't let that fool you that the other girls Moametal and Momometal (and the third original girl Yuimetal) are any less talented or less important, they are crucial to what makes them both original and unique. They have about 70 songs now, each one different to the last. They have songs in virtually every metal genre, but they will also mix and blend so many more musical styles and genres with the metal - and they have introduced choreographed dance to metal as well - but not dance as you may know it from pop acts etc where it is generally used to fill the stage or to give you half dressed girls (or boys) to take your mind off the uninteresting music. BABYMETAL's choreo is bespoke for each song and it is interpretive, helping us non-Japanese speakers to understand the meaning of the song or a lyric. But it is more than that too, it is designed to involve and include the audience. When the girls jump, pump a fist or make a move, when they chant sing their backing vocals etc the audience follows their lead. They are masters of crowd control and one of the very best live acts on the planet right now. Their music videos are all very good and worth watching, but BABYMETAL are a live act, their songs are written for live performances and that is where you will see - and most importantly hear - them (and the Kami Band) at their very best. You already have recommendations for more songs.

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this artistic play at the venue (2 times in the two-day Fox_Fest). What a bliss!! Soothing and exquisite performance by 5 elegant figures in the center 😍. Classy incorporation by BABYMETAL's Kami Band on both sides (4 guitars in total) ❤ Various elements created by 3 beautiful performers and 6 instrumentalists with virtuosity were mixed and sublimed into one beauty by means of something like alchemy. The actual applause at the end of the song was much much much bigger than that recorded in this video. They played this song together again in Belgian festival on June 20. (I am a Band-Maid fan, too. Before discovering the 2 BMs, I, 68-year-old Japanese, had been a stubborn old jazz / funk fan😅)

Good reaction, I do hope you check out more Babymetal. They have some amazing music compositions all around. HOWEVER, the true appreciation is for the vocals, choreography, AND the music. If you only care for musicianship, Babymetal probably isn’t the band for reactions on your channel, but still worth checking out on your own. Babymetal are officially just the 3 vocalists, backed by their session band, the Kami Band for live only (not studio). And these guys are exceptional musicians. Suggestions, based on your channel title of “guitar solos”: *Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan 2014):* Full band solos followed by lead Su-metal solo. *Akatsuki (Budokan 2014):* Power metal ballad with guitar duets. *Road of Resistance (Pia Arena MM 2023):* Dragonforce inspired power metal anthem. Herman Li and Sam Totman did play the guitars for only the studio recording, but the live is all Babymetal and the Kami Band. *Tales of The Destinies (Tokyo Dome 2016):* So prog Mike Portnoy gave this his personal thumbs up. *YAVA (Fox Festivals):* Band solos and Ska-metal. *Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Sonisphere UK 2014):* Raw, live, festival. You’ll know what to appreciate here. *Monochrome (Pia Arena MM 2023):* Heartfelt and melodic rocker, and an all around amazing live performance. I’m purposely not listing any collabs so you can actually appreciate Babymetal for themselves, if you choose to explore their catalogue of incredible sounds of genius musical composition and variety, amazing vocals, and exceptional stage presence. Hope you check them out! 🤘🦊

Firstly I do apologise for some of the lower IQ members of the BABYMETAL fanbase, they do not represent the vast majority of the fans. As others have mentioned BABYMETAL are officially just the three ladies but they are backed by some incredible musicians. Unfortunateley the camera doesn't focus on them but they are always there. In terms of collaborations there are a number of them and some are guitarists. However most have not been played live with those featured artists. There is DA DA DANCE featuring Tak Matsumoto, and METALI!! featuring Tom Morello. There is also Road of Resistance featuring Sam Totman and Herman Li although it isn't advertised as a feature. There have also been performances where their backing band, known as the Kami Band, have performed intros and solos. Some notable performances are: (KZfaq video titles) BABYMETAL | Rondo of Nightmare (w/ Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro) | LIVE at Budokan Black Night BABYMETAL | Catch Me If You Can (with Kami Band Intro) | LIVE at Budokan Black Night BABYMETAL | Akatsuki「紅月 -アカツキ-」| LIVE at Budokan Black Night BABYMETAL | Kagerou (with Kami Band Intro) | LIVE Compilation

You are wrong...but right...LoL!! So Babymetal is just the three lovely Ladies...officially...however, they have a Fantastic Backing Band know as the "Kami Band" or Band of Gods. The Kami Band was traditionally made up of a rotating cast of some of Japan's best Session musicians, but over the last couple of years they have also incorporated the "Western Kami Band" made up of players from several North American Bands. So just a little info on Babymetal, they have 4 studio albums, (their 3rd one hit #1 in the USA on Billboards "Top Rock Album" chart in Oct. 2019) and they have been fighting against the "Norms" of Heavy Metal for more than a Decade now, with their own sub-genre called "Kawaii Metal" or 'Cute metal'....but don't let that fool you because they have some very Heavy and Dark themed songs along side the bubbly and fun ones...they fit the definition of "Eclectic" and you will definitely find something you like....from Summer Time Party songs Like 'Pa Pa Ya' and 'Metali' to the dark themes of 'Rondo of Nightmare' and 'Babymetal Death'(Legend 1997 ver. - the production on this one..think Alice Cooper at his Best!). So you really should explore more from Babymetal. Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!

Hi and welcome to BABYMETAL. This seems to be a challenging case for us and I like challenges. 😁 First, sorry for some comments I've read. I'm usually very combative with people that disrespect them but I believe it's not the case. As many already explained, BABYMETAL is the three ladies but they are backed by a live band, known as Kami Band formed by some of the best session musicians money can pay. The current set (formed by American musicians) have been playing with BABYMETAL for five years now with a minimal rotation (just the bass player, actually). There is another set formed by Japanese musicians. They are not technically part of BABYMETAL but fans love and appreciate them as if they were. The thing is that they are very diverse musically since they like to blend any music genre with metal. And their live shows are on another level to the point they are sometimes considered a live act. They also sound better live so we always recommend to watch live videos. About particular suggestions, you already have a ton of incredibly good ones. But if you are very into prog-metal I'd suggest you "Tales of the Destinies" (Live at Tokyo Dome 2016). This is a very, very special song and live performance. 🤘🦊

@@jason7120 that’s fair, but I didn’t necessarily count out doing more. I often like to react to new bands/player with an authentic approach and see what fans say. You can’t win most times if you pander to fans. I like to see if fans can win me over and I move forward or move on. You may think it’s disrespectful to BABYMETAL that I know nothing about them, but someone recommended this song do to Tim and Scottie being on the song. How many BABYMETAl fans are going to check out Polyphia? I would hope a good amount and maybe it broadens musical horizons on both sides.

@GuitarSoloReactions Polyphia are incredible guitar wizards of the new era. They did a collab with Steve Vai called "ego death" that's insane. Also, I'm an insane Babymetal fan, I'm 47, wife and I saw them twice in Texas last year and they put on the greatest live show I've seen in my entire life. People knock them without truly understanding them (not talking about you, but what you might hear if you look them up). They are focused on singing and dancing, with an insane top 1% session band behind them. No two songs sound alike. They blend a LOT of genres with metal. They bring an absolutely insane relentless energy and their stage presence and crowd interaction is unlike anything I've seen. Su, the singer, is one of my favorite of all time, and her flanking dancers are basically professional dancers who put probably thousands of hours of practice and time into honing their craft. Yeah it's a VERY new unique idea but I dig it so much! They have some very powerful positive messaging also. I hope you enjoy more but if you can't get into them, totally understood!

BABYMETAL started as a heavy music club project since they were kids under a talent agency called Amuse, more precisely their producer; Key Kobayashi who felt Metal as music was getting old & needed innovation, then after he saw SU-METAL, real name Suzuka Nakamoto; BABYMETAL’s lead singer perform since she was a kid he had the mystical idea of creating a Metal band with her & the others to support her as they carry most of the choreography, don't get me wrong lol SU is an unique dancer but she is mostly the singer & stage general as she can’t move as freely as the other two. Their genre is called KAWAIIMETAL or CUTEMETAL; a mix of young & cool looks as you can see their costumes are like armors; the music Metal & Japanese pop, but BABYMETAL is truly known for not being locked inside a box & mixing every genre possible with Metal, consistent in a way at being inconsistent, every album is experimental & completely different from each other; every song is not the same. They always sang live, they openly lip-sync for a few songs of their set list but that was in the very beginning of their career & for very specific songs, with specific contexts; in large amount of songs only 1 or 2 songs here & there were lip sync at that time, so nothing they do is fake to the audience who gets to know them or their fans, there’s even a list made by fans of every song performed live or lip sync, after 2013 all songs in the set list without exceptions are performed raw live, so it isn’t like something changed tbh, just a small detail. Very early on they coudn’t afford intrumentalists to play for them so from 2010 to 2011 they only sang to backing tracks, no live intrumentalists, in 2012 the session intrumentalists were contracted to be added in BABYMETAL.

Here is the real deal as I have watched all your Jinjer reactions (Jinjer is my favorite band). Jinjer came to me through Babymetal as me falling into Babymetal lead me to reactions and into Jinjer as well. Since 2013 Babymetal performs shows with a live band as others have said the Kami Band. The Kami Band is a slew of rotating musicians ALL with serious chops both the Japanese and Western members. Thing is as you now know Babymetal is the 3 young women. It is also not a typical “band” or concert. It is more like musical theater or an opera. The musicianship is insanely good but you don’t see the band as much just like the musicians are not the focus of the visuals in a musical or opera. There are exceptions when the band is prominent in the show all these solo sections are special. Their now deceased guitarist Mikio Fujioka was an exceptionally gifted and unique player. He is seen in most lives prior to his death pre 2018 shows. Babymetal like every Japanese band is best seen live, like I said it is an experience not just a concert. Here is a list of songs for the styles you may want to checkout: Road of Resistance live from Japan 2015, original guitar parts by Herman Li and Sam Totman (Dragonforce has played as backing band for Babymetal on this song before), for pure progressive metal Tales of the Destinies live Tokyo Dome, Portnoy loved this song, classic metal Ijime Dame Zettai, Sonisphere 2014 (1st big show outside Japan, their most important performance) plus to see the Kami Band soloing Rondo of Nightmare with Mischief of Gods intro. Don’t be afraid to jump in I live Jinjer, Crypta, Maiden, hell Bathory and Babymetal kicks ass. If you want links let me know it. Is 2 am here and I am worn out, can post later.

Welcome to the Foxhole (BabyMetal's journey).🦊🤘🔥 Nice reaction and one of the unusual first song to start your journey but trust me when i said you're gonna open a Pandora box when watching more BM songs, there's no other group like them around. Here's a brief info about them: BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal (kawaii means cute) mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal". They are: *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 26. *MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 24, next month is her birthday. *MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 21 and is the new official member since April 1st last year. -YuiMetal- scream and dance, former member since 2018. None of them are related. After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status change recently like i said. They got a set of "unknown" elite musicians called the Kami Band, early era were mainly Japanese with rotating members, after 2019 they started to introduce a new set of westerners musicians which, since last year, started to be regular when playing live shows at the World Tour 2023/2024, but none of them are official members, only the three girls are the frontwomen of this group. About this song: Metal Galaxy is a wonderful album and full of surprises, you're gonna find many more like this with more mature sound, it came out in 2019 so isn't so new but is one of the songs with more mature sound. The album version got the collaboration of Polyphia guitarists, and it's quite clear in the solo section. Tim Henson said when listening to this song that he would love to play this along with BabyMetal on the stage, he didn't know the final cut when he was doing the riffs on this song. The dance on this song is beautiful and graceful, they're showing another mature side and more complicated choreography. According to MoaMetal is the hardest song to dance along with BxMxC and Night Night Burn iirc. Song is inspired by certain "City Pop" band and Utada Hikaru songs, when SuMetal heard this she doubt about this being a metal song but then the guitars solo were added and all make senses suddenly. Finally we got them together on stage and with this awesome live performance, it is their first time performing together. They did it again last week at Graspop Festival in Belgium and they hug each other at the end just like in this version only thing it was cut out, there's also a proshot clip but I'm not so sure about the sound mix. Along with RATATATA this was definitely one of the highlights at FOX_FEST and a lot of Japanese fans were looking for, I guess that cool slow pace city pop element gives some nostalgia and that's why many fans love it. In a recent interview, Tim and Scott talked about a new song in their upcoming album along with BM, let's see what they got but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be something real good like this one. I'm gonna try to leave in my next comment where to get more proshot clips safe to react if YT allows me to do it. Meanwhile next suggestion: - *Road Of Resistance* live in Japan official MV (2015). Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Babymetal has musicians back them who are just as talented as polyphia. You should check out rondo of nightmare with mischief of metal gods intro. I think it is pretty unusual to to like a song and think that you'd never want to hear anymore by the band. I mean there was probably a reason polyphia wanted to collaborate with babymetal in the first place. You don't just get to collaborate with top notch musicians because you play to recorded tracks. I can't believe you didn't mention the unique quality of su metals voice. She is one of the most talented singers in the industry today and you hardly heard her vocals. I really don't think you are listening to the music. You listen to the guitars and don't hear the music. Interesting. I don't think I will check out any more of your reactions. Just kidding. You need to listen to rondo of night.are with the intro before deciding what you think of babymetal..

@GuitarSoloReactions it's one thing to listen to the guitars. It's another to listen to the guitars and ignore the music. In fact baby metal has always had some of the finest guitarists in the industry backing them up. You should listen to rondo of nightmare with m7schief of metal gods intro. The guitarists are in fact at least as good as the guys from polyphia. It's hard to say better at that level but they are on the same level. If you are a guitarists channel you need to listen to that song. Then decided fir yourself. It's important for your channel not to throw stuff out without hearing it. I'm telling you you won't be disappointed.

If you do do more BabyMetal, look for live performances with intros. The intros are The Kami Band (their backing band) just showing off. Rondo of Nightmare, Catch Me If You Can, and Yava have great intros, but they are a bit older songs. The Kami Band used to be more focused than they are recently, but Kagerou from The Forum also has a great intro (different musicians, tho. It's a long story). There are plenty of great live performances without intros that showcase the band well, too, like Road of Resistance Live in Japan and any festival performances (except Glastonbury...we don't talk about Glastonbury). While BabyMetal is technically just the three girls, the band is amazing and I think you might really appreciate their musicianship. Mikio, who we lost in 2018, was very innovative, but everyone behind the girls is just mindblowing. Fujioka Mikio, Leda Cygnus, and Takayoshi Ohmura are the guitarists you'll see most often. But BOH on bass and Aoyama Hideki on drums are just next level, too. 🤘🦊🤘

Remembered more great BabyMetal guitar moments. XD The dueling guitars in Akatsuki at the Budokan and the duet in No Rain No Rainbow from Legend XX are just *chef's kiss*

BABYMETAL is the three girls, and they are backed by their live band called the Kami band which you could see playing in the background, but the camera focus was on BM, Tim and Scott. I would suggest their song Road of Resistance Live at PIA Arena 2023. They did a collab recently with Electric Callboy titled Ratatata, there's a live music video for it as well from the same FOX Fest, which the Brand New Day was filmed at. Other BM features, include BM featured on Bring Me The Horizon's track Kingslayer, which there is a live music video with them from Nex Fest, and Tom Morello was featured on a BABYMETAL track released in 2023 titled Metali, there is no live performance with Morello present, but there is a live music video of the song from the same Nex Fest titled in Japanese: メタり!!

I get it; you are a guitar-centric channel and probably think that this might be one of Babymetal's most heavy songs just because it's a colab with 2 guitarists. The reality couldn't be further from the truth; they are renown for their live performances, and this is one of their few lighter songs. Babymetal is officially the 3 women, but they have elite musicians backing them live. Think of them as a metal version of The Supremes with a metal version of the Funk Brothers to back them. They are paid musicians, but they are dedicated to the girls, and some have been backing them for nearly a decade. They have also expressed their huge respect for them as performers over the years. Not every performance focuses on the Kami-band, but some do spectacularly. There are many reasons why the Kami band doesn't really need to be the focus anymore, but that's another story. Having said that, I wouldn't be interested in any reactions that talk about the girls as extras because they don't play instruments. You don't have to like every song, but you do have to accept Babymetal as a singer, 2 dancers, and a 4-piece backing band. My favourite band is Black Sabbath BTW, and I will say without any doubt that Babymetal are the most radicaly daring and original metal act since them.

Babymetal hasn’t performed to backing tracks only since 2014 when their backing band (a group of session musicians known as the Kami band) became their full support for all their shows. Yes, Babymetal are only the three girls and they don’t play any instruments, but that doesn’t take anything away from their passion, dedication, hard work and professionalism they put into their performances. And yes, they are one of the biggest Japanese metal bands and well known and respected. I suggest you check out one of their newer songs from their latest album “The Other One”: “Mirror Mirror” live at PIA arena 2023. 🤘🦊🔥
