Great group to react to, they've honed their skills over the last 30 years and are now starting to get more attention, mostly due to reaction videos like this. I really like their feel.

I am a Japanese ningen-isu fan. In Japanese, music”音楽” is written in the form of enjoy"楽" sound"音". You seemed to enjoy the sound.

Farewell tour? Where did you hear that? They are about to embark on their first "tour" of Europe (if you can call 3 shows a tour). I think they'll come to the US soon. I think they were totally surprised by the reaction they got from the West.I don't mean to be rude by my question. If what you say is true, I'd really be bummed. It seems odd that they would stick with it for 30 years, then call it quits just when they are on the verge of worldwide fame. But maybe that wasn't what they wanted. Maybe their joy is from just playing. They are all very down to earth guys. Maybe the fame thing just isn't their thing.

These guys have been around since 1987 and are just finding more widespread fame now. Interestingly, the song is basically asking when they will get their chance. BTW, all three of them are mid 50's, even the guitarist. He's only a year older than the other two.

Guitarist and bassist are same age and school grade, and drummer is one year younger than them. In Japan, the school year begins on April 1st, and ends on March 31st of the following year.

@@mark-bo3qs I realize about the school year in Japan. But the guitarist Shinji Wajima was born in 1965 while the bassist Kenichi Suzuki and drummer Nobu Nakajima were both born in 1966.

@Robert Lawrence Sorry for my bad English😔 In Japan, same early school grade=same age. Kids born between January 1 and April 1 called “early born”. They study together with past year April 2 - December 31 born kids. Wajima was born 25/12/1965, Suzuki was born 11/3/1966, and they’re classmate. Nakajima was born 20/9/1966, so he is one year lower glade than other two.

@@mark-bo3qs generally in the West when two people are born in the same year they are considered younger than anyone born in a year before them regardless of school grade (as many classes are mixed in age). I do get what you mean though, batches are often used to measure seniority than actual age.

I only first heard of them this September and I’ve lived in Japan for 20 years! I now have 20 of their albums. They’re not all exactly the same - the band has evolved - but all their albums are packed with awesome music. Very consistent!

I discovered Ningen Isu a few months back and was instantly hooked. I'm just mad that I didn't find them sooner to enjoy their music.

"The 'Shabadabdia'...". That's the "scat", which is a Jazz form of singing non-words by using your voice more of as an instrument itself; look up Ella Fitzgeralds One Note Samba or How High the Moon.

Man that drummer with his Pompadour blasting on them drums cracks me up but also has me in awe. Amazing band! After seeing the music video for myself Friday, I went out and bought 2 of their albums immediately.

There is a children's TV show in Japan that places Kanami Tono and Isu in a guitar skills showdown. It is good hearted competition and Kanami won round one and Isu won round two in their lead guitar face off. Even though this is lighthearted fun between two people who obviously like and respect each other consider this: Kanami is now viewed in Japan as one who actually can go toe to toe with the master Isu. Kanami has been playing professionally for seven years. Isu, more than thirty. Let that sink in.

They need to have a third. In the second one, you could see that both guitarists learned what worked and what didn't in the first round, as they started using the game surface to better effect. They should have that program here in the US. It is a children's science show. I think it could work here.

Love Ningen Isu, I added their whole catalogue to one of my Spotify playlist... lol, nearly 300 tracks... don't regret it at all! Here's a suggestion for your 365 journey: *Twelve Foot Ninja* from Australia. Hard rock. but very eclectic... I suggest One Hand Killing.

Discovered them about a year and a month ago and instantly loved it. Got quite a few of their albums, recently got my pre-order of their newist compilation album. Got to see them in person for the release of their last studio album. Still haven't had the chance to see them live yet though. :'(

I found this band at about the same time as I found babymetal and I love them almost as much. I'd recommend Namahage as another song of theirs to listen to, but they've made over 20 albums so there is a lot to choose from :)

Ningen Isu is the Black Sabbath of Japan. The bassist Suzuki is a haunting monk probably from the underworld (white colour in Japanese culture, specially a very white face or person symbolizes death, ghosts, the supernatural). The guitar player/vocalist Wajima is a Meijei Master (a professor that taught many subjects includying Martial Arts) and the drummer Nakajima is a Yakuza member as they use to wear in a 70's style. Thy use a lot of Edgar Allan Poe, H.P. Lovercraft, Buddhism, Humor, Eroticism, History. Ningen Isu goes from Prog and Hard Rock to Heavy Metal/Doom Metal.

I watched a fan cam of one of their live performances. They are at least good live. I'd like to hear what they would sound like live with high quality sound production and recording. Probably really good.

if you have decades under your belt, you can master your craft......These pros opened for OzzyFest in Japan decades ago back before hair bands and catchy hook phrase dancy metal took over!.. They are to Japan as Rush is to Canada imo..
