I haven't watched your videos in a long time but I developed so much speed and precision from your lessons on sequencing, alternate picking and finger exercises outside the guitar in the past. I also learned a great deal about modes and soloing. So thanks for all the great lessons!

You are greatest teacher ever when it comes to guitar. Is there any plan or way you can show us some phrasing ideas so we can learn a scale and while we make out own solos we have a few phrasing ideas in mind? Thanks an you the best!

Sir you evolved my soloing capablity so much. I appreciate it so much man... hope you are doing well. I never did finish the series I bought, and I feel pretty crappy about it. I never got to send you in a clip to analyze my playing to see where I could improve.

Great Content - well presented - and as a beginner would love to get into the right track for learning. @Claus - Which would be the correct course - and remember one needs some 2 way communication and is that possible?

Claus, your story about starting on guitar (told in another video) trying to master that one lick is so inspirational. Just indulge me - 1) how long was your typical practice session that first year or so, and 2) what % of that time were you spending on that one lick? (I know it was a million years ago; guesstimate!;)

If I saw this correctly, you just played the a minor pentatonic all across the chord changes but you landed on the specific chord tones whenever the chord has changed. Is that right?

Always awesome, inspiring videos Claus! Thank You! I have an off topic question. For 45+yrs I have played 25.5" scale guitars, starting with Fender and, for the last 15 or so, Ibanez. I recently discovered "short scale"(24') guitars, and I am obsessed. I recently bought a Squire Super Sonic and a Sterling Cutlass. I now have BIG HANDS! Other than my guitar-playing buddies deriding me for playing "kids' guitars," I don't care; for me, it's a game changer. I struggle with Hendrix-style hammer pull ornaments or any regular big-hand technique. I have small hands, and I just had to live with.....until now....I think. My question is simply this: Is there a downside to playing short-scale lengths?

Only possible down sides that i could derive are that shorter strings produce less volume... but that isnt a factor in electric guitars since you can boost the sound... also a higher string tension is present... but you can fix that with a higher gauge strings... its really only a problem with acoustic guitars where the body needs energy from the strings to vibrate...

I'd consider myself a musical person, like rhythmically and such, but damn I absolutely cannot tell notes and chords by ear. Maybe I could get some notes right when I'd hear them isolated but there's no way I can tell what chords are being played when I hear a song. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Got to learn the most common progressions to build a foundation. You'll recognize them over time and one you have that foundation you build from there. Unless you've perfect pitch you can't follow changes without a lot of work.
