Rather than big, how about a supersonic jet?

You can't fly supersonic over land, so the limited utility of supersonic flight isn't really worth the cost unfortunately.

@@jimbo1637 yeah I thought of that and that could be a pretty big hurdle but say new york to miami, you could go out over water and punch it. and it's also possible it could be so sleek and fly so high that the sound wouldn't be problematic. People who buy large private jets don't do it for rational reasons so why not :)

@@DanFrederiksen You're right that individuals who buy private jets aren't doing it for rational reasons, but contrary to popular belief most private jets are actually owned by businesses who want to get their money's worth. Private buyers using jets for personal travel just aren't a large enough segment of the market to be worth designing aircrafts for.

@@DanFrederiksen Yeah, charter would probably be the best model. There would likely be a market for east cost US cities to cities in Western Europe where you would spend the vast majority of the distance over the ocean so you could capture the benefits of the supersonic planes. Maybe even West Coast US cities to east Asia of the plane had the range for it.
