not true. just bc you are not smart enough to see all the valid moves from spot x, doesn't mean your opponent doesn't know them.

I actually prefer if you upload games from GSL qualifiers or maybe lesser known games played between high tier players. I watch almost all the big tournaments so its nice to see games I usually wouldn't watch unless casted by you.

I have a question my Captain.. I spent some time in the US Army, I wonder about why pro players don't use certain tactics. Namely, sealing off main supply routs. (positioning static defense along every approach towards your base.) If players have forward defensive structures, they only have to worry about air and drops, if you establish outposts on main supply routes, and then just go fast air (aka Vikings/Phoenix/Muta) then theoretically you can fast expand without consequences. I need you to win a tournament, I have a bet going... Also StarCraft is a unique game with its own dynamics, any time tested logic against my ideas is wholeheartedly excepted and encouraged. Thanks!

Ok, so for what I said to work, you would want to patrol your airspace in a staggered way, so that your air defenses (while you fast expanding) are continuous, meaning that your 4-6 air units cover a wide arc of airspace by spacing themselves. This theoretically covers all possible attack trajectories. This means you have a early warning that would potentially intercept any incoming aggression. Any thoughts guys? Anyone can add input.

Sir, I feel like if I don't fully explain the plan, it won't execute.. So I have one further addition.. Whenever you stage an attack, you should strive to attack in a place unexpected, this is more valuable then attacking in a place with key structures, let me explain... As your first attack starts, the enemy will need to scramble to meet the attack, likely overcommitting forces. The US army is constantly staging the next attack, and only after planning for the extraction of the first (and smallest) force.

I don’t know if this is serious or a joke but I’ll treat it as serious so as to give you a potentially helpful response. I’m a D2 SC2 player so take my info as it is. Your idea may work in another game but in SC it poses multiple issues. First, maps are designed fairly openly. to block off all the areas would be difficult to impossible. Second, static defenses alone suck. The reason ppl build them is when they are COMBINED with an army, it is powerful. Further, most static D is more powerful close to the base (with abilities such as battery overcharge for toss, creep and queens for Zerg, and SCV’s being nearby for repair for Terran. Non withstanding all this, static defense is expensive as it is, so to build enough defense to be substantial would be a HUGE investment. And you’d have to do that in each place. But let’s assume you had the money to do all that. If you focused on doing that, you would be extremely vulnerable during the time it takes to set up this defense. At a low level (gold or below) this might be viable, but when you have players who are active on the map there’s no chance all this would get up. And even if it did, the opponent could just go air, go around you, and with all the extra money they didn’t waste on static defense, slaughter you. Either that or they could Build a massive army and utilize the fact that rotations for you are pretty much impossible to make because of how spread out they’d have to be.

@@douglasbessette6045also for your third message, remember these guys get payed to play this game. If you’ve thought of it, they are probably doing it or have a reason they don’t. Everyone tries to attack in a place that is unexpected. This is why scouting is such an important element of the game. Often an unseen attack can be game ending, so if you watch high level players you’ll notice they have multiple different avenues of scouting their opponents.

So to conclude, it’s cheaper, easier, and more effective to build a battery or maybe a battery and cannon or two at your forward bases than it is to wall off the whole map, and players already do try to trick others with where attacks are coming from. If you don’t take my word for it, go try to play and execute your strategy. You’ll have fun either way:)
