While he may have been one of the bandits who stole the maple syrup from Princess Loo, he only committed the crime to save his village and his mother along with it. Gummigoo is what many would call a sympathetic villain, unlike other NPCs such as the Gloink Queen and The Fudge, who harmed others for their benefit.
