Im a police officer and I had a call early this morning where the homeowners thought someone was in their home while they were upstairs .. thankfully nobody was.. even with me going 80mph plus down the road it still took about 4 minutes for me to get there.. I kind of hinted that they should get a gun for home protection because even a fast response like that would be an eternity if you were actually facing real danger.. the best part is that they were definitely lefties and me as a black cop telling them that kinda put a strange look on their faces .. when it come to protecting you and your family it doesn’t matter your color, religion,party.. etc because when evil comes to do you harm you’re gonna wanna put a stop to it immediately!.. keep fighting the fight brother .. the 2A will prevail!!!

At the mercy?, I've had people pull guns on me and I've promptly taken them to the surprise of the people with me, even the cops who showed up laughed at the people while telling me I'm crazy. I've done this three times in my life, also within 26 feet a knife is more deadly then a gun.

The argument is that a person can cross 26 feet and stab you before you can draw a gun, however stabbings from knives aren't necessarily fatal. Hurts, yes, but it won't kill you, and when that person stabs you with a knife, guess what? His weapon is now lodged in you, you can grab his knife hand preventing him from pulling it back out and preventing him from running off while you put hot lead into his cranium at point blank range.

IF the dog has been trained at all... That is a misconception that most people have regarding getting a dog for security purposes. Yes, there are breeds who are naturally more protective, but it's been shown dogs don't automatically protect you/your home. (And any trainer worth their salt will tell you the same.)

A well trained protection dog is very expensive and well worth the money, But it really takes a grown up to maintain and care for the dog correctly. I wouldn’t trust that grifter to correctly care for a goldfish, much less a highly trained working protection dog. I think that poor animal dodged a bullet by being returned by that circus clown!

10 years ago, my wife was offered a puppy in a Target parking lot. My wife gave the girl $10, and that dog grew up to be a beautiful German Shepard/ border collie mix! Great guard dog, great attitude, very smart. Ten bucks!

It wasn't the 10 bucks that did that, it was the love and labour that made the dog what he or she is. I currently have a 12 weeks old Rhodesian Ridgeback at my house. we play together all the time. And it's hard to be strict when they look at you with such puppy eyes.😭 But I need her to become a strong reliable partner.

A dog he won’t train, a dog he won’t walk, and a dog he won’t love. Because it takes work to keep a working dog. They take physical activity and mental activity and training. I don’t like the guy; but if he is eligible to own a firearm then he should own a firearm for his protection, but that also takes training…which he isn’t going to do anyway.

Well said. My 2yr old cattle dog takes me and my gf to train and to take to the park every day. Dogs take work and I guarentee you he didn't consider that. I love my dog and I hate bad dog owners more than anything.

New pet owners who complain about not realizing how much “energy” a new dog may have probably wouldn’t make them responsible gun owners either. Responsible gun ownership requires at least some semblance of education and training on the part of the gun owner. This story is also another great example of socialists spending “other peoples” money, and a further example of how irresponsible they are at accounting for it.

What’s hilarious is that mastiffs don’t have much energy compared to many other breeds. I have a cane corso mix (which is arguably the highest energy mastiff type dog) and she barely requires any exercise at all. She’s a fantastic apartment dog. She requires very little from me, just attention and a couple short walks per week. We usually just hit the dog park for half an hour or so and she’s done for a few days. They’re super lazy except when defending their territory. This guy shouldn’t own a dog or a gun.

I like it when people that were against guns decide they need one. They go out to buy one and get angry when they run into road blocks like background checks and waiting periods. They have listened to all the antigun groups propaganda about how easy it is to get a gun. Then when faced with the reality of buying a gun they feel discriminated against. I read an article last year about a gun dealer at a gun show that was accused of racism for not allowing a lady to buy a gun. She didn't want to do the background check. And didn't think she had to at a gun show. Then after she finally did the background check was upset she was going to have to wait 10 days before she could have the gun. She even tried to bribe the dealer to waive all the legal stuff so she could have it now. She learned that all the propaganda from the leftist gun grabbers was totally false.

In the aftermath of the 1992 LA riots, people swarmed local gunstores to buy a gun, specifying outlandish details "a pistol grip 18 1/2" double barrel trap shotgun" before becoming outraged that they had to wait 14 business days,not including weekends & holidays before they could pick it up to take it home. A friend out there who is in the gun business said that he & his staff laughed a lot during sales like that.

Most Americans take for granted their rights because that's all they know. I've been to other countries I've seen how controlled they are by their governments so to them that's normal. Guns also generally do not act on their own, you don't have to worry about it breaking out of your control and attacking someone against your will, something which is a real risk with some of these dogs bred to fight.

Forget cheaper I just can't understand why you would want a guard dog to protect you. Just because a dog is man's best friend doesn't mean he should have to fight man's battles for him, mine are trained to howl at strangers while running away towards me, my dog spots you he's all bark and no bite, but if you have ill intent you should scurry off because my bite can reach out and touch you at 150 yards reliably. There's nothing a dog can do against that, so why would I send mine out to confront another human who might do the same to them in response? That's just not right, and I've no problem calling you scum if you live like that.

I live in NY outside of the city and just got my full carry. That process was about 6-8 months. It’s the fact I need to also get a judge to sign off on EVERY hand gun I want to buy and own … Which takes another 2-4 months to get approved. And after 5 hand guns, they need to search my house, understand my alarm system, ways of exit/access and when I’m home/not home. That’s the part I don’t get.

Then demand that government provide them free housing, free healthcare, free college, free food, etc. If the government is hunting black people why are you demanding your entire needs be provided for by that same government? I've been carrying open since the early nineties, here in eastern N.C., and have had almost no need, precisely because it's there, and open carry is quite common here, has been for more than thirty years. I'm between two small cities, with probably average rural crime rate, routinely in the two cities, still armed. I left Chicago and never looked back. Semper Fi!

As someone who breeds Belgian Malinois for protection work, I have to laugh my ass off at people buying dogs based on emotion instead of doing research, and then having to return the dog because they can't handle it. That breeder very likely had a clause in their contract where they get to keep most, if not all, of the $40,000 paid for the dog. So they'll resell the dog to someone who can handle it, and basically get paid twice.
