He's right, though. They're not pistols - let's be honest with ourselves. They're SBRs. We should be taking the NFA to court about its constitutionality since it infringes on our rights and demands we pay a fee to exercise said rights.

smitty334 I can't speak for him, but the two biggest advantages I can think of is the ability to have a shorter overall gun (ex. something the size of a MP5 or Skorpion evo vs an AR w/ buffer tube and useful barrel length) and significantly lesser concussion. If neither of those is a consideration (like for Clint it seems) then there's little to no use for them tbh

As an Alaskan I was interested by Clint's comments about the 10mm. In fact, although it isn't rare here, it isn't as common as I thought it would be. The only active military unit in the world that uses the 10mm routinely is the Sirius Patrol of Greenland. They're more likely to encounter a polar bear or enraged musk ox than an enemy combatant. They're also the only active unit that uses the M1917 rifle -- a bolt-action WW1 firearm. They say it never fails to operate under harsh arctic conditions and they don't trust anything less powerful against a polar bear. Choosing the right firearm is all about your circumstances.

It's Greenland, no one has interest in invading that island because of how harsh the island is. A military garrison is more likely to see combat against wildlife.
@itsapittie
@itsapittie 2 жыл бұрын
@@Seriona1 you're right. The reason for the Sirius Patrol is that under the treaty that ceded Greenland to Denmark, one of the conditions is that they maintain a military presence. The dozen or so soldiers present on Greenland at any given time wouldn't represent much of an obstacle to a determined military force. In WW2, Greenland was a critical area because it was used as a base for weather observation and for aircraft patrols. Today the weather is observed by satellites and aircraft based in North America or Europe can patrol the entire Atlantic. If Greenland were invaded they'd have to rely on help from allies but I can't think of a reason any nation would want to invade Greenland.

Four time Thunder Ranch, TX student of Clint's. Meeting this man and his wife Heidi in person was a truly humbling experience. Going through the Terminator and the Tower with his instruction in the late '90s, early '00s are times I will never forget. And his one liners were priceless. "Cold? Wet? Tired? Nobody cares!" "Are you shooting fast or are you shooting good?!?" And of course everyone was carrying the entire time there, and the best advice was, "When you go to the bathroom, don't dick with your gun." So true.

@@sbrazenor2 I just find it funny that they call it a rifle to begin with, when they know that there are plenty of handguns chambered in rifle calibers. Case in point? Magnum research BFR. It’s a fucking 45-70, which is traditionally a powerful rifle cartridge, but it’s chambered in a handgun with a barrel less than 16 inches in length. Is that now an SBR because of its chambering? If I attach a goofy looking brace to it so its more controllable( responsible thing to to) and doesn’t go flying out of my hand, that somehow now makes it a short barreled rifle? It’s absolutely retarded.

@@blackhawkinternationalsecu6962 Well I use to fly quite often and I have had had additional screenings also. Its a random thing they do. Best thing to do is don/t stand out from the growd. And have your sh t in order. TSA hates people who have lots of stuff. If you act like a jerk they will pull you aside. Some airports are worse than others. Act like you fly often and no eye contact. I'm sure if you want to take one of Clints classes you will find away.

Interesting interview. With the deepest of respect...I think Clint has drank the "Fudd" cool-aid on the AR pistol situation with the "AFT" (quoting the President). And some day when I can afford to take one or more of his classes, I would/will say that to his face. Four things come to mind.....1) We didn't make the rules, but we are playing by them. ... 2) "If you ain't cheating, you ain't trying." ... 3) There are no rules in a gun fight so use the item/items you think give you the greatest advantage. ... 4) "...shall not be infringed."

In the federal academy, we were taught to decock our Sigs every time we moved, so instead of one DA pull per mag, it could’ve been almost every shot depending on the scenarios. We were also watched like hawks to not thumb the hammer every time we shot, especially during qualifications. A DA/SA trigger is definitely different from most other handgun actions out there...

Different in comparison to striker fire or SAO/DAO. but it's not that hard to deal with. Millions of people do it everyday. They still make them and still sell them and Police and Military still work with them.

Love listening to Clint & can't beat his Words of Wisdom! Reminds me of the oldschool 'Nam Vets I knew back in NYC when I was a kid. Peace through superior firepower, no doubt! The M1 Bazooka hanging up in the background is bad ass. First firearm I fired was a 12 Gauge Remington with Slugs and 00 Buckshot, next was a .30-06 bolt action (that gave my step-father the dummy circle requiring 8 stitches), after a .30-30 Marlin lever action and lastly the .308 FN FAL. Earned the name "Dead Eye Dan" that day.

@@seniortac4175 Clint would've been 37 during the firearms act (FOPA) of 1986 and 19 during the gun control act of 1968. Both are credited with handing over more control of firearms to the government. His generation falls directly into those years. The later generations allowed for further ATF issues but his was the beginning.
