J.B Gunnfound that in a small DC voltage is applied at the ends of N type gallium arcanide or Indian phosphide , the current first Rises linearly from zero and then begins to oscillate with the certain threshold is reached the time of the oscillation that is is very close to the time it takes for the carriers to from travel from one contact to the other contact through n type material and this is known as gun effect or bulk effect.

+ayesha Shaikh : in lower valley +ve resistance is about to begin by further increase in voltage and at upper valley -ve resistance is about to begin as you increase voltage further so do biasing of Gunn diode in between this to point so that you can have minimum reverse recovery time and fast switching characteristics.

ayesha Shaikh : see direction of electron is same as current is positive but qauntity of electrons decreases during -ve resistance characteristics and quantity of electrons increases during +ve resistance characteristics and that you can understands based on mobility in characteristics.

+Siddharth Sharma : mobility is getting negative. So velocity of electrons is getting drifted in opposite direction hence it results into increase in voltage with decrease in current

+Siddharth Sharma : negative resistance means increase in voltage with decrease in current so if u have reverse (-ve) mobility (v_d/E) then increase in voltage will increase electric field and increase in electric field will decrease current.

Why holes go to p+ and electrons go to n+ As they should attract negative charges

Positive terminal is there with p+ and negative terminal is there with n+ so direction of current will be from n+ to p+ so one can easily say holes will move towards p+ and electrons should move towards n+.

+yash 2 : it's giga hz only and written as GHz. May be u might have read that due low quality but u can switch it to high resolution, it's available up to 1080p with this video
