This is the interesting thing about Gunna's situation; technically, he probably hasn't snitched about any specific crimes yet, and he won't have to tell about anything specific unless it goes to trial, which it likely won't. So he basically got out without really snitching on anyone specific. Now, he definitely threw them under the bus by admitting that they are a gang. So we could say he's a 'snitch' but I just thought his situation was interesting. Another VERY interesting thing about the case is that a lot of evidence against thug has been thrown out because it was obtained illegally. But by the time it was thrown out, the state already had a bunch of niggas who are ready to snitch on Thug. The prosecutor is playing chess not checkers: At the end of the day both sides (Prosecutor & Defense) have to "build" their respective case. Young Thug's main argument/defense is going to be that YSL is a legitimate business, not a gang and that this is an attack on Hip Hop and Black folks freedom of speech. The prosecutor just basically called checkmate on YT with the pleas of Gunna and other cat that helped co-found YSL. The argument of whether he snitched or not is irrelevant. They already got others in YSL that already snitched. What the prosecutor needs to establish is that YSL is a "gang" in order to convict YT on "RICO" charges. That was accomplished by Gunna's statement that was read in court about YSL being a gang that needs to "end." And that he knows about crimes YSL members committed to "further the gang." Gunna is viewed as a high ranking member due to his popularity and fame (probably equivalent to like an underboss). So, when a high ranking member says YSL is a gang that carries more weight than any outsider's testimony that YSL is a legitimate business. Gunna also acknowledged in statement that he knew of crimes committed by YSL members to further their gang status. So, if called to testify he will have to answer questions about crimes he knows about others committing, but he won't have to answer if he participated (that's when he can plead the 5th). They mainly want YT because he made that record "Take it to trial." I'm quite sure when they convict YT they'll probably pop bottles 🍾 while singing lyrics to that song. Let this be a lesson that it's not wise to discuss criminal activities (on songs or social media) that you can be implicated in in the future. Also, if you're ever in a situation where you're asked about ownership of something illegal, your response should be...."I don't know nothing about nothing." And, basically tell authorities to due what they have to do. Authorities get paid to build cases, so don't help them build a case to convict you. They'll have to determine who to pin the case(s) on. This is the unfortunate aspect of being affiliated with a group because you won't really know who is standup guy until the 💩 hits the fan.
