Your little guy shreds. Try putting him on a 90 or 100 and I bet he will really enjoy riding a more responsive board and really improve. It worked for my little dude. Those super small Burtons are stiff, best just for pulling them around with the riglet.

Yeh, That is actually a 90cm Chopper he is on. He is kinda big for 4 years old. I actually got him one of the Libtech banana blaster 100's but he had issues getting it turned when we tried it before the Colorado trip so we stuck with the Burton. We will probably give it another shot if the snow is decent this weekend. I think a lot depends on the snow, slush, or ice here in NC. They really need a 95cm for the little guys to transition through.

Hi, Ya my little guy is on a 100 now. He is smaller for 5, probably around 35 pounds. After a day or two he loved the bigger Rome SDS especially in powder.

Interesting. Gunnar is actually 44lbs. I tried that Lib-tech briefly but he got frustrated with it again. I was looking up the board design and it is actually a rocker camber board. When he actually shift weight and carves like he is supposed to it is good I think. If he makes lazy turn and tries to force it with his back leg the edges catch because of the camber? At least I think that's what may be going on.

Makes it look so easy. I gave my 5 year old a Burton Riglet this winter and it seems kind of “slippery” actually. Is it good for learning it or are we beat off trying another model?
