Gunprimer has officially made a commitment to listen to the community and make their products better and stand out from the "generic brands". I was able to get my Raser+ a little early (not sponsored) so that I could spend ample time to give you all an educated review!
I definitely messed up with talking about the different grit strengths in the video! Here they are again to clear up any confusion:
Raser - 600 grit
Raser 1.5 - 400 grit
Raser+ - 220 grit
Follow and hit me up on my IG!

Nothing makes me want to stop a build midway like the discoloration I get while sanding, these look perfect for fixing that problem. Ordered and excited, thanks for the info boss

Thank you so much for all your reviews! I genuinely appreciate it! I've just got back into Gunpla after roughly 19 years, and your nippers review/ showdown helped no end. I purchased a dspie set of nippers and may have wet my pants on first cut lol! But what an absolute game changer, amazing. Thank you! And now I'm looking to locate a Raser, and this just helps so much with the grit description. And the forethought now of size and width for those tight spaces, awesome! Thank you. Just need to try and locate one in the UK 😅

Hey man, did your raser 1.5 got dull over time? I feel like mine does not have the same cutting/sanding power anymore even tough I always clean it after every build session. My raser + on the other hand is still a beast. Keep it up, bro. Great content!
@aMillaGunpla
@aMillaGunpla Жыл бұрын
Thanks! No, I haven't noticed much change in performance. I do usually use the Raser+ though, and comparatively, if I've been using the Raser+ for a majority of a kit then switch to the 1.5, it does feel noticeably weaker
@dramaturgie2396
@dramaturgie2396 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. Def noticeable when switching from + to 1.5. Although I also have the Siren, and even that feels like it has more cutting power than the 1.5.

Will the double cut method say using a pair of GodHand Ultimate Nipper GH-SPN-120 will achieve similar results and I can skip sanding the nub and get through my builds more efficiently?
@aMillaGunpla
@aMillaGunpla 2 жыл бұрын
Sanding/filing nubs will always look better up close, but from far away or on a shelf, you could get away with just using the double cut method. What's what Mecha G does for all the kits he reviews 😛

@@aMillaGunpla The raser is the latest technique in removing nubs? I haven’t built in months and only built four kits so far so I’m new to the hobby and when I started watching KZfaq videos to refresh my memory on building and detailing that’s when I ran across nub removal with rasers.

Thank you! I checked with Gunprimer, and they clarified that the Gate Remover Kit does in fact come with the Raser 1.5. However, wherever you buy it from, I would double check with them just in case they might still be selling some of the original versions.

Was wondering if there was a better option than using sandsticks and thank God there is. However they don't seem to be on Amazon which means I'll have to play 14 USD of shipping for it if I order from their website directly.
@aMillaGunpla
@aMillaGunpla 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, unfortunately they’re not on Amazon. If you’re in the US, you can order from USAGundamStore.com as well! The shipping should be a little cheaper, and it would get delivered quicker as well, since it’s not from overseas.

@LightyGab 3 жыл бұрын
@@aMillaGunpla It's out of stock just checked =/, I'll have to keep an eye for it, from your impressions I gather this would be a better option (long term speaking) than buying sandsticks. Btw, how long does a pair of sandsticks like the ones we were talking about yesterday would last? I know it depends on the use and I don't plan on building a lot but just for reference I'd like to know.
@aMillaGunpla
@aMillaGunpla 3 жыл бұрын
From my experience, they last around 3-4 master grade kits before they get too worn out, longer if you clean off the dust more often. I only really use sanding sticks for kits that I plan on painting, while the Raser files I use for everything because they’re much quicker.
@LightyGab
@LightyGab 3 жыл бұрын
@@aMillaGunpla Hopefully they get on sale soon, seems like the better option. What method of painting do you use btw? I'm just a new gunpla builder and I don't plan on painting anything for now at least, but I've seen multiple methods and would like to know yours.

What is the difference between using something like this versus using a fingernail file or regular sanding paper?
@aMillaGunpla
@aMillaGunpla 3 жыл бұрын
A lot, actually! With sand paper/sanding sticks, you’ll have to go from low grits to progressively higher grits in order to get a clean glossy surface again. With glass files like the Raser series, it’s only a one step process, and the result will come out glossy a majority of the time! The other times, you’d only need to use a buffing block to get the shine back.

@aMillaGunpla
@aMillaGunpla 3 жыл бұрын
I think I go over the technique I use in my nub mark removal tutorial (can’t exactly remember if I do). How deep are the scratches? Usually if I get scratches while using the Raser it’s because I’m using too much pressure or the edge of the file is touching the part.

HEY LOOK don't use this on clear plastic kits at least not extensively like I did. I have this problem where tiny hard plastic shards get stuck in the pores of the glass file and will actually cut and scratch the pieces I'm working on instead of filing. I've tried to brush and rinse these tiny pieces away but nothing is really working. I think because clear plastic is MUCH harder than plastic from typical non clear kits I've actually kind of ruined my razor+. just a heads up

You might be using too much pressure with the Raser. I actually just built an entire clear kit using mine and had no issues; try cleaning yours using tape and see if using lighter pressure works out for you!
