This is the perfect example of how not to rush a song. It took Rose 10 years and 2 bands to write this song. It was the first 90s song to cross a billion views on KZfaq. It's aged like a fine wine.

Slash is the reason I play guitar. Fun fact: the end solo is essentially the funeral march backwards and well, slashified. Everyone's going to suggest songs like don't cry, estranged, sweet child o'mine, but if you REALLY want to hear slash play guitar, listen to locomotive, coma, nightrain, rocket queen

Slash is a player that serves the Gilmour effect. One note can convey more emotion than a sweeping trill and massive double tapping and technical showing off. To be able to use slow, delayed vibrato effectively, emotively, is a skill you have or don't with the strings.

The hard rock genre (at times, depending on the band, referred to glam rock or hair rock) reached its apex in this song. The ending funeral was actually a funeral for this style of music as as it had reached its peak in that very funeral march. :) Thanks for the reactions guys.

There is a great live version of this song at the MTV music awards, Elton John can be seen in it participating in a piano duet with Axel Rose. (At the time) it was the biggest production in the history of the ceremony. It's pretty awesome. Also, "Dry County" by Bon Jovi is epic. ✌️

Fun fact : Axl Rose has a six octave voice range, based on the findings, Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose has demonstrated the greatest vocal range in studio. Mariah Carey comes in second, followed by Prince, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Christina Aguilera and David Bowie. Guns N Roses live in their prime was insane, like the song Civil War or welcome to the jungle from Paris 1992😁🙏🤘
